I would have to say I had two of the most fun test drives today I've ever been on...besides the SE-R Spec V we tore the #### out of. Here goes...
'02 WRC Blue WRX:
This is the first car we drove. A bud of mine drove first, then me, then Rob (KoukiS14). I would have to say the WRX is one helluva car for the money. If I had to buy a sedan, it'd be a WRX. For the price it spanks on the new Altima V6, but then again, the Altima is a different kind of car. The WRX we drove had a factory short shifter with STI titanium knob, and the steering wheel column mounted boost gauge. The boost gauge looked kind of cheap to me, with a wire loom running down into the console. I would much rather lose the clock on the dash and get the 3 gauge cluster. We took the WRX up through a twisty section of road we always take test drives and our own cars through to see how it handled...It impressed the #### outta me...For 4 guys weighing the car down, it didn't have much body roll for a stock suspension. And you can't beat the sound a turbo boxer engine makes...:) Brakes could have been better I thought, but not to shabby for stock. A very fun car to drive, and something I may consider as a daily driver later...
'00 New Formula Red S2000 (26k Miles):
I don't know what the #### is wrong with the magazine people writing reviews on this car, but OMFG...AMAZING! I don't understand where they get off saying it doesn't have any power down low for around town driving, etc. You could leave the thing in 3rd and cruise around all day. 9000RPM redline absolutely SCREAMS!! If you ever get the chance to drive one, don't bother turning on the stereo...the music from the engine is plentiful. The thing handled just as awesome as it accelerated. Tight suspension and fairly grippy tires for having 26k on them. Potenza RE92 stockers on it. Brakes left nothing to be desired, bringing you back down to zero in no time. I rolled away from a stop light in 1st and punched it...brought it up to 9k, slammed into 2nd floored it again...Oh jeez....I needed a smoke after that test drive. I must say I think it was much more of a driver's car than the WRX, but the WRX is much more of a practical car. You can't really compare the two, much less than comparing apples and oranges. Needless to say...these two drives made it worth getting up early today for...
