Today my engine got hot (little past 3/4) and now theres a ticking noise from the head as far as I can tell. Its a little louder than a valve tick and my chain guides are already removed so I know its not that. During acceleration it gets louder and there is a loss of power. Power loss may be due to plugs because they were pretty black. I noticed this when I was doing a compression test my battery was dying so I only got 1&2 (175 on both). There is no mix of water in the oil. Im going to rebuild the head this weekend anywayso hopefully thats the only problem. My question is what problem could I have in the block? If there are any. Thanks in advance for any advice.
