View Full Version : Continual front suspension problems
I have had continual problems with the front suspension since I got this car back in '97. The front LCA's started cracking once I put in the ES poly bushings in the tc rods. I thought I had eliminated that problem when I went to the SPL tc rods. I put the version 2's in about 4 yrs ago but the bearings wore out so I replaced them back last May with their version 3's but now I am hearing the same noise in the left front that I heard in the right front on the old v2's but I actually think the LCA is cracked this time because I can't keep the car in a straight line without constantly correcting it with the steering wheel. My car has never been in a collision, though, I have run over some curbs. It is at stock height with AGX adjustables. To me the front suspension on this car seems to be weak. Any of you experienced these problems?

You sure the car is just not out of alignment and constantly fighting to go straight?

What kind of noise are you hearing?
Did you change to wider tires? That can cause the car to follow deformations in the road more than it did before.
ok, the car is at stock height with stock se rims/tires, stock springs.
suspension mods: agx adjustables, spl v3 tc rods.
Z32 30mm rotors/calipers on the front.
I just replaced the steering rack back 3 months ago and had alignment done. Car was finally aligned right and was pretty much straight. I did run over a curb going into a parking lot like 3 weeks ago and ran up on it slowly but I think I went over the whole curb. Afterwards the car seemed to drive like it did before but about a week ago it started pulling to the right which it was doing before the steering rack replacement and alignment. But the popping sound in the left front was there before I hit the curb. Mainly I here it when I turn the car sharply to the right to park behind my house after coming up the driveway. I also notice like a noise when I brake at times like something is shifting. Car just doesn't seem as sharp anymore. But regardless I have continually had problems with the front end. Popping noises from the tc rods or lca's have just been driving me insane.

lol. why dont get another alignment.
also missing bolts on the tension arm brace/sway bar can make popping sounds when braking.
yea i think all the bolts are there. My guess is that the arm is cracked again at the tc rod bolts or the bearing in the rod is gone out already, though, i have been spraying it with wd40 like Kuah told me to.

what do you mean cracked? how do you crack a tension rod i just cant see it...
check to make sure the lock nuts are tight (adjustable tc rods) and just go over the whole front suspension and look at it carefully.

FLCA ball joint perhaps.
