Lately, it seems everytime I pop the hood after driving, the dipstick isn't in all the way like it should be. Now I read that this can cause a vaccum leak. Why is it doing this. I do have the engine shaking at idle problem.

Next, when the car is running and I remove the plug that is attached to the air regulator, it doesn't change the idle. Does this mean the regulator is dead?

Finally, when I fidle with the harness on the coolant temp sensor, the idle rises to like 1000-1300rpm and is pretty smooth. The temp sensor is only 20 bucks. Should I go ahead and change it?

Ok... well it seems I fixed the dipstick problem and I replaced the coolant temp sensor...

I still want to know what the deal is with the air regulator... nothing happens when I remove the connector. Is there a way I can test it to make sure it's working. Also, where could I pick up a new one? I've searched and haven't really come up with anything...

how did you fix the dipstick prob? Was it a vacuum leak? I have experienced this dipstick pop too.

I shoved it in there real good... and it hasn't come back up since. I did replace my coolant temp sensor within that time period, but I doubt that did anything.

My next step is to get a new connector for the air regulator and if that doesn't do anything, then I'll get a new regulator...
