i tried searching but couldn't find n e thing specific
so i changed my mind and im gonna buy some coilovers because i wanna get rid of that nasty gap.
but i don't have alot of money to spend on them.
heres what im looking for in a coilover.
lower and raise my ride easily
ones THAT DO NOT RUST
i live in canada and the winters are bad.
something comfortable and not stiff on the roads.
i am not gonna be drifting i just want to lower my car and give it a little bit better handling.
i was told that getting rid of the fender gap was only possible with coilovers.
if you guys could recommend some cheap coilovers that meet my requirements. thnx

what about the tein basic?
i don't really need all this ajustability i don't even take my car to the track.
its just a daily driver
are pillow ball mounts that important?
is there any thing else comparable to the tien basic?

oh i forgot
yeah basic adn SS? i think are ok
just entry level coilover
Flex is better due to some things which are definately nice (2x hegith adj, add edfc, high quality made)
basic/ss are just cheap for people who want to raise/lower car and not much else
those would be fine too
orj ust get ground control
quite inexpensive and very high quality
and if you just want to slam it....whats those ads..low boyz?

i just wanna slam it.
where can i find these ground controls?
who makes em?
is there any other options?

if it was me i would go Tein Basic...
Ground Controls are nice but then you have to pick up aftermarket struts as well if you really wanna lower the car a lot...
i also just like the ease of a coilover set up...no mess no fuss...stock out...coilover in...whole car done in an hour...

How about JIC FLT-A1's? Pretty much the same features as the FLEX for under $900.

MOOOOOOOOOOOKEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
lol..my strut tower braces are Mookeh...dunno if i would trust their coilovers..but for your needs they would prolly be fine...just dont expect longevity of life...

with about the same features as the JIC A1's (A1's only have 5 levels of dampening) and the A1's being cheaper.... i might be more inclined to go with the JIC's.

so what kinda life span can i expect to see out of some tien's or some jic's
do jic's rust?

no idea. AFAIK the US spec A1's are pretty new so there isn't a lot of info about them. JIC isn't that bad of a brand though (although some people seem to have gripes with them, same as any brand i guess).

If you don't mind a stiff ride and can afford them, get TEIN HE. They are $1250 and are tried and true.

i would reco against these for daily driving and simple lowering purposes...just not worth the money or the harsh ride..

wow dont give advice if your going to give crappy ones:
read his post
1) he doesnt want to drift
2) he wants a comfortable ride
3) he is more concerned w/ lower car
4) he is looking for something inexpensive

comfy ride n slammed?
date a fat broad :D
really tho, i wouldnt even waste cash on full coils if your main goal is lowering only, get some kybs and sprint spring and cut some coils or g/c

1) Just because he has HE doesn't mean he has to drift.
2) IMO they are comfortable, everyone has a different opinion on a good ride. My friend hates his car and says its horribly harsh and I think it's nothing.
3) So?
4) To me 1200 dollars and some change is very cheap for suspension... when compared to a good coilover, which is 2000 dollars.
I believe in doing something right. The HE doesn't rust, it's tried and true, and you'll probably be able to sell it later if you sell the car, etc.
But in the first place, you can easily get no wheel gap with simple springs and shocks, I've seen plenty of lowering springs that lower 2.5-2.75 inches.

HEs ARE setup for drifting. the compression/rebound is not like most coilovers. its not the same as FLEX or FLTa2s.
stop being a newbie dumbass.
8/6 is NOT comfortable if you compare with stock. why do you think tein has SS and basic? look athe the stock spring rates and the [HE] coilover ones. THINK.
1200 is not cheap
600 is, 1200 is more then what most people (it seems on this board) make in one month of work.

Yea, I'm also looking into some new coilovers AFTER I get my S14 Blacktop. I was looking into either the Tein HA's or the JIC FLT-A1's. Those are the two I would pick between. I will be doing around 90% daily driving also.

I would stay away from Tein HA because they rust from what I hear.
I'm not a newb because I personally don't mind what some would consider a harsh ride. I don't know this person and have no idea what HE considers harsh. But I DO know that they are stiffer than others out there.
But yes, I am a newb.
