I been having trouble finding a hard line that goes from the clutch master cylinder to the slave for my future auto to manual swap. So my friend said to just buy a new hard line from the auto parts store and bend it myself. Question is, does that really work? Never done it before. If it does... How long does it have to be? I already have a red SS hose to go from the hard Line to the slave

yes it does, there is a tool for bending hardlines tho... so that they don't pinch.
check youtube for 'custom hardline setup' or something like that.

or just buy a used one at a junk yard or someone else's part out.

Save yourself the trouble and just buy a steel braided master straight to the slave line. IIRC, you should be able to find them in Egay for less than $40.

I've actually seen that on videos. Is there any difference between those steel braided lines and the hard lines?

Nope, not unless you're running some really stiff pressure plated clutch...might feel a lil softer but doubt you'd notice it.

you'd have to be running a REALLY stiff clutch, but at that point you should have the shit to help compensate like the bigger slave cylinder

i have the isis/agency power one, its not bad. hides the clutch line too

if you get one, try to find one with two 90* bends

i have a custom made braided line, cost more and works the same as people with isis lines... the real difference in "feel" doesn't come from changing the line it comes from removing the damper that the clutch line loops... there hardly any difference in pedal feel you kinda "feel" the clutch engage a little bit more with your foot (if that makes any sense) but thats just my opinion...

removing the damper box sometimes requires adjustment of the pedal. i too feel an engagement point that i never felt before, it also feels soggier but i have no air in the lines.

the chasebays one is nice since it has the banjo fitting for the slave cylinder, but not worth the extra money

Man. It would have been nice having all these plug and play, ready made parts when I did my auto to 5speed.

It's too easy now. I reckon you could build a project without stepping foot in a junkyard.

EDIT: Sorry, you have S14. Didn't see that earlier. This is for S13.

Or just buy this and be done with it?

Damper box is right before slave cylinder. IIRC, Nissan installed it to reduce the vibration on clutch pedal, but it's very hard to bleed with it, so most people take it out. I didn't install it when I did the swap and have had no problem at all.

Can someone tell me difference between OEM hardline and aftermarket braided line? I liked the OEM look, so I got the hardline. It just clipped right into existing clips on the firewall. I was always wondering about the difference. You know line will flex a little bit although it's braided. Just curious....

Well, not everybody ships shit ASAP...shit could be back ordered. Sometimes, shops shuts down for a couple of days for shits and giggles. Not the end of the world at 5 days. Now if its been a month or so...there better be some explaining.

I have Agency Power SS clutch Line. Touge Factory sells them pretty cheap.

A+++ item, DK approved

I highly doubt there is any quality difference between the Chasebays line and ISIS/Agency Power lines. Atleast with the latter you don't have to take the chance of waiting forever.

Drifting Kalamari

Agreed. Touge Factory was real quick about sending it to me and also I requested some stickers from them and they sent those free! I will sport their name, they deserve it!

Plus the red looks fucking sweet! If you want silver get the ebay one, it's the same as ISIS.

The only thing I wish I got was the teflon coated ones like the Agency Power ones. Steel braided lines have a tendency to rub thru shit and act like a saw when vibrating. I'd hate for the shit to be rubbing on a wire and start grounding.

I wasn't aware they had ones without the coating... I have only seen coated ones! SS lines would be scary without it!
