Newbie here.
Commercial truck driver.
Owner/Operator of 1999 Freightliner here in Saint Louis, MO.
I am re-building top to bottom, a 1996 Nissan KA24E 2.4 SOHC, naturally aspirated engine with 300K+ miles on her.
This is a daily driver that frequently gets abused and not a quality racer
or street car but rather a small base model pickup.
I'd like to use ARP rod bolts and mains instead of the overpriced junk
stocked by dealerships and many after-market suppliers.
It seems that ARP is mostly racing stuff and I'm glad that their quality items are available and Made in the USA to boot.
I'm trying to find out if the KA24DE rod bolts, or which ones will work in my
1996 KA24E engine.
The two models have different top ends obviously, but is the bottom end similar enough to be able to use the quality ARP fasteners???
If not, does anyone have any suggestions regarding bottom end fasteners???
I've already bought a Felpro headbolt kit for the top end.
I've rebuilt my commercial diesels, Internationals, Cats and Cummins factory parts are never doubted with regard to quality.
For what those vehicles cost, the quality control had better be there!!!
Neither company is going to risk a $35K engine on a chinese made faster.
The same cannot be said for aftermarket suppliers and dealerships of small vehicles.
Thanx in advance for any information you choose to share.
Ever need help with your 600hp diesel give me a call [email protected]
