I just recently sold my s-14 yesterday and bought an s-13. here are some pics of my old s-14.

Now I am debating on wether to get the Sr20. or turbo the KA.
the s-13 has like 140k on it so i dont know if it would be cheaper to do the eng. rebuild or just say fuk it and buy the sr20. What do you guys think?
It all depends on how much power you wanna make. What the plans are for the motor in the future. Its all preference actually. I think you should go KA-T but thats just what im planning on doing. Also if your so concerned about cost, I know that we all want to save as much as we can. It is an expensive hobby, but if its too much money then maybe you should choose a new hobby.

How were those brownies, heeh. And what was that you were actin like you were smokin out of in the last pic? Did you have any engine mods on your S14?
Anyways, I'd go for the SRswap. Being as the SR20DET comes turbocharged from the factory, and the KA24DE is used as a truck engine(although has potential) I'd go for the SR! How much you looking at spending anyway?
Oh, and go for the engine/suspension/brake modifications before the fancy smancy body kit!!

Are people still on this "truck motor" shit? While at least you noted it's potential, I don't hear much said of the G35 and 350 engine being a truck motor, being that it is in the FX35.

Well thanks for the link. I just heard the rumor of the KA being a truck engine and took asumptions w/o the proper research. old_s13 made some great post in those links.
The debate of SR vs KA is simple, both are good motors.. both require work to achieve high HP.
The magic behind SR is simple: you buy it, you make sure the motor is good, install it -- and you have a factory turbo motor putting out the stock 205-215HP.
The KA is different. It requires a smart mind, common sense, and sometimes, fabrication skills. Turbo it yourself, buy a turbo kit, have a reputable machine shop help.. whatever.
gotta go to class, finish later...
No need for the negativity though :mrmeph:

DAM I hate that truck engine, sure wish I could get my hands on that smaller displacement, illegal, expensive to buy factory parts for motor that likes to bend valves, and shred rod bearings.:bash:
