S13 Hatch Quarter Window Cover

What do you guys think? I'm still working on finishing it but the main concept is there just looking for opinions good or bad. Better and "finish" pics to come depending on the direction this thread will be heading. Also i'm still on the fence about the design too bc the car looks like shit and it's all different colors, so it's affecting my judgement a little. The finish part will either be black, body color or raw carbon fiber.

I always hated how the rear part of the S13 hatches are all glass and i saw a pic of something similar years ago. That's how this whole idea/project started.

I only had black textured paint on hand...I did a quick paint job and through it on my other hatch which is all 1 color and had tint. imo it looks much better now.

I tried to make the opening as big as possible but i don't think it will affect driving that much anyways imo. + new cars these day has smaller quarter windows.

I only did 1 side bc i didn't want to waste material if i scrapped the project. My next picture update will hopefully show the finish product in carbon fiber.

Yessir, i made them. Same process as xmotionless.., but i made a cardboard template before anything. And since i wanted the "as close to" S15 appearance, I opted to make the quarter window covers. Not an S15 by far, but i was satisfied. Had to sell it tho, now Im wanting another one, but im also in the market for a family car hahahaha.

Very nice work indeed sir. I would do a few things differently if I went that route. My main concern is the lack of visible window that becomes available after doing something like that, it looks majority the black "unseeable" part. I'm pretty sure removing the black from the stock window is not an option so one would have to look into getting some sort of custom glass made using the stock glass as a model. Another thing I would do would be to mold the base of the cutout with the body of the car so it flows nicely, the weatherstripping kinda throws it off.

Either way, car looks great. One day I hope to get mine on that level visibly. :bigok:

Ya I have a pic of one set. But it's the same as the silver s13.5 that was spooge's car. Basically I got with the guy who bought his car and I bought the panels from him and made a mold so they are exactly the same as those covers.

LOVE IT!! I think a good profile pic at a distance that captures the whole car would give people a better idea. Kinda looks like an old Z.
