Water temp gauge

Where do i hook up the thrmostat for the gauge? I have seen adapters but not sure what size? I have a stock sr20det and it is a sunpro water temp gauge.

rad hose adapter size should be 36mm. if i remember correctly...

So i need a adaptr 1 1/2 hose with a 36mm? And dose the sunpro run diffrent sizes? Or diffrent thread size?

i would put the sun pro gauge on the thermostat housing on the hot side(under the thermostat). you should be able to drill a hole there to accept a 1/8 npt tap. you would have to work under the intake manifold though. but you can also install it on the outlet side. i would drill a couple of 1/8 inch holes on top of the thermostat though so you will have a constant water flow for the gauge to read.

you can buy aftermarket hoses with a small port for temp sensor.

Hey I'm not trying to thread hijack but I was searching this myself and true to most forums it gave me 10000000000 different for sale thread hits, and was unable to get the answer I needed.

So I got a water temp gauge online and the pretext was "everything you need to install" not true as i need to get one of these radiator hose adapters. Do these work well and accurate? (Something about it not being in the direct path of moving coolant brings to mind issues with accuracy). Someone mentioned drilling into water pump housing, would this be more accurate? What about the radiator?.... Thanks once again and sorry bout the hijack, just never had to deal with this before as I've never had a faulty stock temp gauge, so I'm like WTF mate?

It uses a 1/8 NPT fitting, which is very common amongst senders you'd likely be using and included with many common gauges.

EDIT: Exact same size as your existing radiator hose, so cut your hose and put the adapter in between.

I have the PBM adapter as well. Works just fine!

Stop making shit difficult....

Buy the PBM one or any other one. Doesn't really matter. Cut upper radiator hose in half. Install adapter in between the two pieces. Clamp it all up. Install sender. Connect sender wires to gauge. Add coolant if needed. Bleed system. Have accurate water temp readings from now on. Like a bauce!.!.!
