I am losing number two cylinder in my 92 240 with the ka24de. I have spark and isn't all the time. I was thinking the number one and number two injectors and seeing if the problem moves. Would this be the next best thing to do? Also, I just replaced the cap and rotor and the car ran great to the gas station and ran on three cylinders on the way back.

I was thinking of replacing the fuel filter but the problem seems lie in the number 2 cylinder only. When it is running poorly, I can pull cylinders 1, 3 and 4 plug wires and the engine bogs way down. However, when I pull the number 2 plug wire, nothing changes.

how does the spark plug on cyl 2 looks like compared to the other 3 cylinders?

I only looked at the numbers 1 and 2 plugs for a comparison and the both look the same, and smell the same.

I think that I may have narrowed it down to a bad ignition control module.

try swapping injectors first with a different cylinder see if the problem follows the injector to a different cylinder.

I tried swapping the injectors today but I was unable to get them out. I almost broke the top off of the number 1 injector trying to pull, pry it out. Is there a safe/easy way to do this. Also, I took the ICM to work (Advance Auto Parts) and tested it, it failed twice in a row.

Swapped injectors 1 and 2 today, the problem followed the number 2 injector. Replaced injector, all is well.:lockd:
