Got 2 questions for you guys, this is for an S14.
1. My gas pedal has "play" it goes down about 1/4 before actually engaging, it does not get stuck coming back up.
2. After removing my SE wing, when I open the trunk it just fly's open. With the SE wing it opens normally. Is this is normal? or is there something I can tighten to fix this.
Thanks!
1. adjust your throttle cable, and possibly get on your back and look to see if anything looks WRONG with the pedal, there are plenty of ONLINE FSM's (FACTORY SERVICE MANUALS) you can download to figure that out possibly by searching first.
2. Most cars from any manufacture that have a wing on them have stiffer trunk lift springs to compensate for the weight of the wing. You removed the wing, hopefully you learned a thing or two about gravity and weight during your time in middle school to figure out the rest.
Please do a search in the future, and if you did do a search and didn't find anything try google next time since I hear the search feature here hasn't been working right as of late. :lockd:

Add small weights to the underside of your trunk.:wackit:

As far as the pedal play, adjust the tension on the throttle body pulley. Theres always slack on stock S-chassis. Tighten it up to the point that it almost opens the TB plate and it should be good.
As far as the trunk, nothing you can really do about it.

He could swap in base model trunk springs, the ones that didn't come with the wing from the factory.

Pop on some heavy magnets on the underside of the trunk.

You could ask your friends to check out your epic bug collection on your rear speaker deck then open the trunk and whack em in the head.

Is there a tech section for technical questions anymore?

This... I've been noticing a lot lately that there are tech/help questions being asked in Gen Chat.

I loved the fact that my trunk opened like a catapult. Hands free mofos
Also I cannot believe this thread exists.

Exactly what I was thinking. I hate when you open it and the wind pushes it shut. Ughhhhhh.

well, in his "probable" defense, search function is all out of whack as of late and when you use google, it gives you all kinds of extra crap you have to sift through..
