Hi guys, well I'm running 5zigens 17x8 all around. And ever sense I got new tires on my car up front. Went from 115/40 to 235/45 17. I noticed a weird noise. Checked everything an noticed that my tire was touching the coilover on the passenger side. Took the coilovers out to make sure everything was fine and to check if maybe there was a left side, right side coilover because I couldn't remember checking when I First installed them. But no. Put the coilovers back together again and accidentally swapped them. Now my driver side is the one hitting the tire...any ideas? The one side that was good had atleast 1" away from eachother..

Check your pillow ball mounts if you have them, oem bearing plates suck and can get bent.... my guess is your coil overs are fine but the mounts are bad or misaligned... the key thing you said is it follows the coil over so we know its nothing to do with the chassis. also make sure your alignement is spot on

okay well yea my alignment is really bad lol. i kinda thought that could be it. and how do you adjust the pillow ball? i saw this guy post the same issue and he said that fixed his problem...but than again...i really never messed with the pillow ball before. so what do i do?
and thanks dude

if your reusing oem ones then toss them in the trash, order up tein pillowball mounts they are like 50 each on a good day.... once you get those you will have multiple settings for all angles.. or you can act all honda boy like and drill out your strut tower bolt holes into slots and get your inch that way... dont be gay do it the right way....

Just get some spacers, easiest bet.

Check your pillow ball mounts if you have them,
im sorry but u should not be posting because you obviously know nothing about front suspension and coilovers
adjusting your pillow-ball will not change the distance between the tire and the coil-over there bolted together
theres a couple way to fix this
1 spacer
2 loosen your bottom coilover mount and make sure that you pull out on the coil-over before tightening it down some are slotted so u can adjust for added camber or rim clearance. if its not slotted u can dremel the bottom hole to give you that added clearance u need to fit your bigger tires w/o using a spacer
and get a alignment

^^^ lol thank you sir! I tried that last night and it fixed my problem..that guy really threw me off with that for a min. Lol
And Where I'm at local shops don't like low cars. They don't even bother to try to make it up the rack. So this weekend I need to make a 45 min trip to go to a shop and get the alignment done.
Thanks again dude!

On pbm's you sometimes have to take the rear shock and hit it for the impact gun for 1 second on the top nut and that fixes it. I am only making the assumption that this issue could be common in coil-overs of similar design.

i had a set of stance coilovers on my s13 and i was getting a really bad clunk in the front. checked everthing possible and couldnt find anything loose.... until i checked the nut on the top of the coil and it was barely holding on lol. tightened that up and i was good to go!
