All of the new and updated Viper models are officially out. Please contact me with any questions you may have on the product. I stock every Viper model made and every alarm sensor. I also stock every interface needed for newer vehicles with immobilizer systems, CAN bus door locks etc. Please let me know what vehicle you have and I'll shoot you a price for the interface if needed. Don't hesitate to ask any questions about the product... there is a lot of misinformation out there about some of the product. I have been an authorized Viper dealer for over 20 years and my shop installs around 600-700 Viper systems every year. Needless to say I know the product inside and out... and the installation side of it is my specialty!

Do you pay for the GPS service when you buy the add on? and which alarm will it work with?

Do you pay for the GPS service when you buy the add on? and which alarm will it work with?

No, you pay for the service whenever you want through mysmartstart.com. So here's how it works:

Purchase Smart Start
Install Smart Start
Diagnostic LED's must be on solid
Activate Smart Start through me over the phone
I test it from my computer
I officially activate it once it passes all tests
You receive an email with a temporary password from Directed Electronics
Follow the link in the email which takes you to mysmartstart.com
You choose service plan and pay for it
You can also change your password to something you want
Download free app onto phone
Enter username(your email address) and password into the app
You are ready to go

So technically you could have the thing installed and activated through me then pay for the service plan whenever you want to start using it.

It will work with every single system I have for sale except for the very first one.

Because the price on Viper's website includes basic installation if you were to physically come to my store and have us install if for you.

I'm not sure what you are wanting a price on.... all prices are listed and they are shipped prices!?! Please let me know if I'm missing something.

I'm not sure if you are wanting just security, remote start/keyless or remote start/security, but I always prefer a system that has 2-way confirmation. I also really like the Smart Start gear... really cool stuff.

The cheapest route would be the Viper 5104V and VSM250. However, for another $40, I would suggest stepping up to the 5204V to get the 2-way remotes. I'm not a big fan of the remotes that come with the 4104V and 5104V anyway. I just don't like the feel of the buttons when pressed... they don't have a real positive feel to them. Whereas the 2-way remotes have a nice feel and then the obvious benefit of being 2-way.

The systems are not bad at all to install if you just take your time and triple check your wiring.

Or should I get the 5704 for another $40 more?

Thanks in advance.

No, the 5901 is discontinued. The 5704 is the replacement for it... it's the same exact thing except for they made the brain a little smaller and the harness connections are laid out in a more installer friendly way. So you definitely do not want to buy a 5901.

There really isn't anything comparable to the 3303. You could get the 3203 which is still a 2-way system, but does not have the fancy LCD remote. They would have the same range though. The 5704 is actually a 1-mile range system. So even though the 3303 remote looks the same as the 5704 remote, they do not function from the same range. If you are never going to use remote start then I would probably just stick with the 3303. However, $40 isn't that much to gain the extra range and remote start system... I guess it just depends on what you want!?!

So you want a remote start and security with digital tilt sensor. I personally would never own a system that wasn't a 2-way. So that leaves us with the following:

Viper 5204V(5701) $199 + $37
Viper 5704 $239 + $37
Viper 5904 $339 + $37

I would probably go with the 5704V. Has up to 1 mile of range and the LCD screen. That system will have over twice the range as the 5204V. Also keep in mind that the longer range will not only allow you to start, lock, unlock etc from a longer distance... but also report alarm triggers to your remote from a longer distance. The LCD screen remote also uses a rechargeable battery... just plug the remote into a mini USB off your computer or the mini USB charger that comes with the system.

Wat is a tilt sensor

The 507M is a digital tilt sensor. Once the security system is armed, the 507M will take an inclination reading and make that its default angle. If the vehicle is raised 1-degree over that default then it will trigger the alarm. It's perfect it you are worried about your wheels being stolen or the vehicle being towed.

It's not going to work any different... it just won't operate the door locks when you arm and disarm it. Just manually lock the doors before you get out of the car like you normally would. Then push the arm/lock button on the remote... done! When you come back to the car push the disarm/unlock button. Unlock the car with the key... done! Keep in mind, you can add power locks to the car. I sell the package for $25: it includes 2 of the DEI high quality actuators and the relay pack to control them.

I assume you meant the 5204V? The 5701V is the only Viper model that they haven't upgraded to the new part # yet. When the 5701V does change it will be the 5204V. From a consumer standpoint the models are no different. The remotes are the same part #'s etc. The only difference is the harness layout on the brain box and they went back to an outboard shock sensor. The 5701V(5204V) is remote start, keyless and security. So if you ordered today, you would receive the 5701V. If you ordered next week who knows... I may get in the 5204V's any day. But again, they are the same thing in the end.

Any of them... it's not the actual alarm brain that operates the windows. You need to buy a 530T for window control and you can add to any Viper system. Let me know if you need pricing on any of it.

The 5204V does not have the one-mile range... only the 5704V and 5904V

You could however add the Smart Start to a shorter range alarm system and then have unlimited range with your smart phone. It would even text you if the alarm is triggered... among many other features.

the 5704V or 5904V. Or rather, is the 5904v worth the extra $100?
Also, do these ones come with any of the optional sensors (i mean is it an option for the cheaper Viper systems, but already comes with the more expensive ones)

I prefer the 5904 if you have the extra dough. The remote is much more then just a colored version of the 5704 remote. It has a jog dial that makes it REALLY easy to navigate through all 5 levels of the remote. You can actually set what each level of display looks like etc.... change the icons and so forth. It's really easy to bypass particular sensors on the fly. Whereas with the 5704 remote, you have to hold the function button for 8 seconds just to get into the programming mode. Then it's really cumbersome to navigate through the menus.

As for the sensors, all of the Viper security systems come with the standard impact sensor. But all of the other sensors need to be purchased separately no matter which Viper system you choose.

It would be easier to wire it all at once. Most people on here buy the 506T(glass break sensor), 507M(digital tilt sensor) and the 520T(battery backup). This would give you some pretty mean protection. If you want the ultimate you would add the GPS Smart Start module.... assuming you have a smart phone. You could then track your car anytime on Google maps right from your phone. It will also send you text messages notifying you of any alarm triggers. Then of course you would have full operation of the 5904 from your smart phone from any distance.

So connect it to my alarm, activate it, then I can unlock my car using my iPhone? Compatible with the 3303v correct?

Send the $$$ to the PayPal email listed on this thread?

Plug it into the black port on the 3303V
Wire red to constant
Wire black to ground
I need to activate it, which I can do over the phone with you.
You will then be able to lock, unlock, panic, activate AUX from your phone at any distance.
You will receive alarm trigger notifications via text on your phone from any distance.
Soon you will also be able to check status. So you will be able to just look at your phone and see if the car is locked or unlocked like on your remote.

You can Paypal me at:

[email protected]

Please enter in the comments box what the payment is for and make sure NOT to gift the payment. Also make sure your correct shipping address is associated with your Paypal account to prevent shipping delays.

Thanks,

Toby

Sounds good last question: Do I go through you or Viper directly to renew the 3 year subscription when that time comes?

Sounds good last question: Do I go through you or Viper directly to renew the 3 year subscription when that time comes?

You can go through me, but it's easier to just do it through the website mysmartstart.com You will do it through there when we first activate it anyway.

You call me once the unit is in and powered up.
We wait for the lights on the unit to go solid.
I enter your information into the activation portal.
I send commands to confirm operation.
Once all commands work I activate it.
You will receive an email from Directed with your username and temporary password.
You will follow the link given in the email which will direct you to mysmartstart.com.
You will enter in your username and password to log in.
You will then choose and pay for a subscription plan.
You can then change your password on the site.
Then you will enter your username and password into your app.
Done!

Can you please confirm for me that the Viper 3303V will accept the DEI 508D Field Disturbance Sensor?

The 508D has a 4 wires, while the 3303V has a 3 pin input. Will the 3303 brain distinguish the first-stage warn away outputs from the 508D vs. the second-stage trigger output from the 508D if I connect the 508D green and blue wires to the brain MUX input?

If the 3303 is not compatible with the 508D, then what would be the best alarm model for me?

I have a Jeep Wrangler so I need the Field Disturbance Sensor, no remote start (it is a manual), no power locks/trunks. I want 2-way communication, starter kill, shock sensor, battery backup, and field disturbance.

Thanks,

Mike L.

Actually, all of DEI's sensors will work with all of their security systems... AND any other brand of security system for that matter. They can simply be hardwired to the brain.

However, the Viper 3303 has a 3-pin sensor port(Zone 4) AND a 4-pin sensor port(Zone 7)... so you can simply just plug it in like you are wanting to do.

The 3303V, 508D and 520T will run you $269 shipped.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or want to go ahead and make the purchase.

Whatsup Toby,

I would recommend the Viper 3303V along with the VSM250... which is the GPS Smart Start. You would be able to arm/disarm the vehicle from a smart phone from any distance. It will also text you if the alarm is triggered. Then of course you can track the vehicle from your smart phone via a Google map. It will text you if the car moves at all... assuming it's armed or in lockdown mode. You then also have the 2-way remote that comes with the 3303V, which will also notify you of triggers as long as you are within the advertised 2000 feet range.

You would be looking at $428 shipped.

Were you wanting any other sensors?... tilt sensor, glass break sensor etc?

Definitely tilt and glass.

Ok, the tilt is another $37 and the glass $19. I'll throw the tilt in for free. So $447 shipped for everything.

Even as a dealer, I don't have a list of compatible phones. A real easy way to check though is to access the app store via your phone and see if you can download the Viper SmarStart app. If you can download the app to your phone then your phone is obviously supported;)

I purchased an alarm from you back in 2012, and the main key pad to the alarm broke. Can I purchase a replacement from you? 4704v is the model I believe.
