I just wanted know if this is normal or y its not. When i drive my s14 in the city, my temp gauge is right above the "C".... And when I get on the highway, it goes down a bit like right on the "C". Then, when I get off the highway, it rises back to where it was. Is this normal?

no. you are probably low on coolant or your thermostat is broken.

normal operating temp should be some where in the middle of the gauge(between C and H). if it does not reach that temp, your temperature sensor or gauge could be bad, or your thermostat is stuck open. the reason why it goes higher during city driving is because there is not a lot of air passing through your radiator. and when your on the freeway going faster than city street speed, there is a lot of air passing thru the radiator. also when your engine is running that cold, you use more fuel due to the ecu making your engine run richer. also, the heater won`t put out hot air. only warm air will come out. if the heater is hot, then your gauge is definitely reading wrong.

This is wat I've done recently last month... I replaced the thermostat(and had to do it several times to not leave a gap), replaced the heater core, and connected the heater core hoses back in. I also bled the system. U think it needs to be bled more? And the gauge works fine cuz it was marking my car when it was overheating when I didn't bleed the system. And my heater works fine to me... Although I do think its not as hot as it should be. Btw has enough coolant... Res is filled to its proper place

How about you stop paying attention to the stupid stock gauge and invest on a real water temp sensor gauge?

Ok... So where and how can I come with this new water temp sensor gauge? Any pics of good looking ways to where I can place it?

Place the gauge in a pod and the sensor in your upper radiator hose with a water temp sensor adapter. Make sure to measure your radiator hose diameter and order the correct size adapter.

Get a water neck adapter, a new gauge, and a new sensor. STRI, Defi, GReddy, etc. Hit up a vendor and get yourself something nice. Spend 200$ now and get a fail safe system rather than spending next to nothing to rig it for now and have your motor explode into a million pounds of turkey bacon.

Or do it the right , less tacky way and put the sensor in the Freeze plug
