[AZSCsideways]

my new project is a 92 s13 coupe (named diablo), I've always wanted to build a 240 so when I came across this deal I didn't want to pass it up (I love coupes too). so far plans are for this to be a full track car setup for drifting but might take it out to a few autocross events, due to the fact that autocross cars and drifting cars are a lot alike.

What's done to it now
- Vertex Style Front Bumper
- Dmax Side Skirts
- Origin Front Widebody Fenders
- 50mm Rear Overfenders (Stock Quarter Panels Cut for Clearance)
- New OEM Nissan Silvia Brick Headlights
- OEM Nissan Silvia Corner Lights
- Aftermarket bumper lights
- New VIS Vented Carbon Fiber Hood
- Five Lug Conversion (needs work)
- Adjustable Rear Tow Arms
- 6 Point Cage (Supposedly done to SCCA Specs)
- Interior gutted
- Trunk utilizes hood pins
- New windshield and good glass all around
- Painted metallic black inside and out. Imperfections in fiberglass but looks decent from 5 feet away
- Shocks are stock

-1J swap (1J that is in my black car as of now)
-5 gallon fuel cell
-full suspension upgrades (subframes are coming out and everything is getting done)
-1 peace drive shaft
-tubing front and rear fenders
-paint cage and car (me and wes have been talking some crazy colors)

i took it all apart last night after getting home (pics to come) so i can start sanding some rust off the bottom (looks like some water / fuel was spilled but the bladder is still good and in great shape) , then it’s off to powercoat

well last week I worked on this thing for a bit, I found out that the broken motor mount that was on the driver side was stuck on...by stuck on i mean who ever last attempted to get this mount off was either A) a F$%king retart...or...B ) was not thinking at all because the nut that holds the mount was 100% rounded...one would think if you started to strip the nut one would stop and rethink...no they just kept going...needless to say it still needed to come off so I busted out the plasma cutter...

my diff is about 95% done,everything was cleaned in solvent and i used some assembly lube on my bearings on assembly.

the cover has a big crack in it due to helping a buddy out when his diff blew up, and me giving him my good cover. i will try to weld it up but if worst comes to worst i get a new one.

yes they are, IMO best way to go 5-lug up front. i have looked into every option and it is the beefiest way to go.

got a set of Baller Bolts from intense in trade for my FLCA that i got from them. the Balljoints in them were bad and they were nice enough to take them back.

its just some egay one but i have used them in the past on a lot of builds. as long as you clean them up and port them out they work good, biggest issue i see with them is slag but being that i have done a lot of port work in my past makes it easy and yes i do have the proper tools...not a dermal REAL POWA!!!! lol

yea its cause the traction control part of the throttle body so it makes them super long, was thinking of hacking some of it off to shorten it but i really don't need to so i will probably just leave it

Have you previously used the VHT header paint? I had some issues with it peeling a few years back but this may have been due to poor prep work.

I love Wrinkle paint, and I have done a ton both for myself and others. You just have to Heat harden it after, then It wont peel off.

I put things into the oven in my garage @ 97 degree celcius for about 2 hours

the wrinkles become much harder as well.

i want some input on this, i am thinking of getting the 1" Z32 master cylinder (after talking with a few guys i feel this is my best option) and from this site it says it comes with the flare fittings inside of it (part number MC39777) Z32 master cylinder on S13 update. is this true? and if so what Z32 should i be looking for in the junkyards? any input will help.

All Z32's will have the flair fittings for the front and rear brakes. Not all have the center flair fitting for splitting FR & FL brakes for use on S13. There is no reason why an OEM master cylinder would have it on a Z32.

There is no year/model/trim that is guaranteed to have it. OEM master cylinders will not have it, there is no reason for the third flair fitting on a stock Z32. If you find a Z32 that had it's MC replaced, it MIGHT have it, but it depends on who the supplier was.

Do it the right way, buy the master cylinder new and don't waste your time searching. I have it, it has the flair fitting.

this bad mofo was the most useful and covered alot of area. if you are ever doing this i recommend this guy, covers alot of ground. you can get them for cheap at harbor freight

thanks, yea we (us az supra guys) came up with that after having alot of those rubber caps from autozone failing. the one in the back of the head i will most likely use for my wastgate cooler line (tial mvr wastegate) and return it in the back of my water pump.

on the side of the head its a 1/4npt, you will need to drill it to size but its not too much material removal. be careful when drilling it because you'll want the hole as straight as possible or you could end up braking a tap off inside and you'll be sol

on the side of the block where the oil cooler line is its a 3/8npt, the fitting and threads are real close to 3/8npt but are much smaller in diameter and the thread pitch is the same so you'll just need to run the tap in till the fitting fits

my wastegate, i running a newer tial that has the water cooling capabilities. i figured hey if it has the option why not try it out. from what i read it was made for autocross guys because they are "on" the gate alot.

dAMN... Thats a really good idea you have for running the coolant into the wastegate... It eliminates that silly hardpipe and the heater hose madness at the back of the head.

now the super awsome machine work everyone loves

so ive been wanting to do this for a bit now and finally had free time to make it. i needed window cranks for my windows but didnt feel like buying them because its a track car and thats money wasted in my eyes (20$ that can buy other things needed at this point in time). the idea first started form a buddy that said he try putting a 12point socket on there and see if it will work, well after trying all the sockets none worked...after thinking for a bit i thought i could just wire a peace that would fit and work with a socket size thats standard then no matter what they can go up and down...i first took a dental cast of the splines to figure out size, i then measured it on an optical comparator, after i got all my measurements i then drew a solid model of it and programed it for the wire edm at my work. the peace fits inside a 1/2 socket and can be used with a ratchet or drill (like ill be doing).

some people might think man it would have been easier to just buy handles but when your slow and board at work for 9hrs this was a win in my eyes. total time invested was less than 5hrs with measuring, modelling, programing, setup and run time on the machine.

I would like to say that I remember reading somewhere That (B) is just the connecting joint to the rear lines. Let me see if I can find it.


Based on what Ive been reading on various forums, some people suggest running a proportioning valve on the rear line to reduce pressure as some prefer not to and have max pressure. I would suppose your setup would all come down to your driving style.

That being said. I cannot confirm if that is a factory valve or a connecting joint.

small update, not much done to the car this weekend but did some cool stuff in the shop

made a tip for my drop ind. that allows me to touch the top of the piston for when i degree my cams in, testing it out / checking the 0 (TDC mark, just wanted to see how close it was and its dead nuts)

harness all to length, i will be changing out all the wiring to the same as what proefi uses. reason being is that the wire on the harness now isn't that great, other people that used it have had problems with the insulation melting and the wires shorting.

as far as fittings they will all be AN fitting. ill post some pictures of the fuel system layout soon, still finishing up all the solid models of everything.

plans are to run without a hood till i make/get a new intake manifold and a new throttle body, once i do that i will get the hood to fit by allowing the 2j to poke through.

Flicktitty has a hood that fits like Stock (s13 SILVIA) i think he trimmed the underside a bit and he is using tech2 kit.

2.75 is the same height as my NISMO mounts - and thats a ton of space.

Are you sure you have a full 1.5" before anything hits? Seems like a good bit of space.. Id say chop your mounts to 2.375-2.5" and re-check and keep going from there if you still have space

most likely will shortten it up even more. my plan is to get the car ready to drive, then after im 100% on that drop the motor in. when i did the 128 wiring on my mk3 it showed me that the 48 would be a breeze to wire so im really not worried about that bit too much. the biggest thing is getting the car ready for all the abuse it will see.
