So I've searched so many forums, websites , spend my time searching instead of doing hw lol.... So here is the deal , i bought the car from a homie , its a 1991 s13 ka24de , the car used to be turbo but the previous owner sold the turbo kit... so basically the engine has no emissions and the butterflies removed from the intake manifold , has a walbro fuel pump ,z32 fuel filter...it took us forever to start the car .. we changed the rotor, cap, spark plugs and cables, cts, coil, we changed the connector for the cts because it was so corroded , and alternator(sr20 alternator) idk if this might be the problem, has brand new battery ,also changed the coil from a spare one he had.... took the fuel rail off to see if any injectors were leaking... took out the screw on iacv and cleaned it with throttle cleaner....

so when we got it running the car would idle at 900 and start but not normal... we had to gas it right when the rpms when up or else the car would flood... i was like whatever as long as the car starts:giveshttp://icandy.zilvia.net/img/smilies/gives.gif:....but then after a while of using it would be harder for the car to start and kept flooding.... until i could no longer start the car..... also the rpms would also drop when i turned on the headlights and heater and stalled out.... the thing is we could PUSH START the car but not turn it on with the key and it does crank ...also when we push start it the car no longer idles .....
Also when we do start the car , it runs good, it doesn't run rich or to lean,
BTW the dizzy on the car is turned all the way to the left ..we know thats not normal but it was the only way to start the car when got it running and time it right 20 to degrees.....
So here are some questions too.. when you put the dizzy in do you align it outside the car with the groves or do you align the groves while the dizzy is in the engine? every time i look it up people say both things on the same thread
The way the dizzy is right now all the way turned to the left .... Which way should we skip a tooth so it could be in the middle?
Clockwise or Counter Clock wise ....

Me and my friend are stumped on what to do......

thanks in advance

Did you check all Your ground wires? Battery and alternator fuse make sure they aren't on the way out... Emission and butterfly removal wouldn't cause this... And can also take off the alternator off and get it tested

I checked the ground cable from the intake manifold to the chassis to battery ... Added a ground cable to one of the shock towers ...checked the ground cable from the back of the engine to chassis is there any more main grounds? .... And checked all fuses too .... Ya I think I'm going to pull out the alternator and check it ....

im having a similar problem i have to advance my timing all the way on the dizzy to get my ka to run and it hiccups when i try to drive it and makes no power

Have u tried checking the timing on ur cams and crank making sure all ur timing marks r where they shoul be?

I diddnt know a sr alt would fit on a KA unless its some kind of modified bracket and i diddnt know the plug was the same, but ive never tried to do this so i have no info here.

My first thought is timing, so i would do a full reset.. TDC, check cam lobe angles, pull out dizzy, spin to just before 1 and then check it with a light, i think its supposed to run at 20*

After that, the walbro could be pushing past the stock FPR.
He put back the stock injectors right? red 270cc's

Use the pics on here for timing

When we got it running we did check all the timing marks on the chain and the cams where pointing where they were suppose too..... I'm going to try to reset it again....

yeah i guess an sr20 alternator fits on a ka and has same plug ... i just had to grind a little bit off the bracket where it holds on to the engine and it slides right in...... yeah they are the stock injectors..... we have even changed the injectors to see if any of them were messed up....

wouldn't the vac line be wet with fuel if the walbro is pushing past the for?

when you put the dizzy in do you align it outside the car with the groves or do you align the groves while the dizzy is in the engine?

did you look at the pictures?
With the dizzy out, you spin it to just before #1
then you slide it in, it should spin a tiny little bit but it should stay pretty much right before or right on #1 as that's whatever degrees before TDC wich would be when number 1 would fire.
Hope you get it running perfect

You should never have gas in your vacuum lines.. that would be a sign of catastrophic failure or some other very serious problem ...

Well I found the prob..... Low compression ....... Fail

Low compression? Piston ring?

Well I found the prob..... Low compression ....... Fail

Did you do your compression test with the throttle wide open? Because my old tired ka idled and ran fine on 110 psi...

I believe its a ll the piston rings..... The numbers were around 90,90,60,90.......I'm not sure my homie did it for me..... But that's really low....
