Aight I'm confused on something here. I decided to go with 18X8.5 +30 in the front of my S14, and I'm using coilovers, so I'm told I have to use a 5 mm spacer, right? Well, will this clear my coilover and not rub with the fender? I'm going to use 235/40 tires and don't have rolled fenders. Someone told me that I would have to dial in 3 degrees of negative camber. But won't that tear up my tires? I'm told I should be good in the back and will have around 1.5 degrees of camber, and a +22 offset back there, with 9.5" wheels and 245/40 tires. Hows all that sound? I just keep getting mixed responces about the front rubbing/camber etc. I don't know how much 3 deg. of camber will hurt my tire life. Should I just do 7.5 in the front and 8.5 in the rear? Please help, I searched.

Thanks!
-John

Don't be a pussy keep the 8.5" in the front, if anything go for a lower offset. Camber really wont hurt your tires, but toe will. I have daily driven on -3 camber on my ST115s for about 3 months and noticed no werid wear. Just make sure your toe is at 0. Also, if the tires do come close to the fender, just roll it a bit. I highly doubt an effective offset of +25 (w/ spacer) on a 8.5" wide rim on S14 will stick out much at all, especially with -3 deg of camber. It will prolly look a little sunken.

camber dosent kill tires toe kills tires :)

Yeah I know that toe is a bigger problem and will def. have that set to ZERO. I just wonder what camber I'll have to set up front to make them fit, and how much that camber will hurt my tires.

I'm going to get 5Zigen FN01R-C's, and the lowest offset I can get up front is the +30, so my only choice is to use that spacer, grr. In the back like I said I'm going with +22. And I'll be using Yoko AVS ES100 rubber.

Why not got 17x9 +15 all around? Same price and would look MUCH better on S14 IMO. Heres a pic, there ONLY on the front:

Clears coilover and Z brakes with NO spacer. Looks awesome too. Thanks Henry!

Yep those Sparco's in back are 18x9.5. the offset is lame as hell though. Like 32offset.

at stock camber settings, that will be ALMOST flush to the fender, maybe a hair or two, on the front that is....

Hehe I love Nitekids car, I just hope I'm not accused of copying him. But I know that I want 18's definitely. I just need you guys to tell me what I can expect from the tires with the amount of camber I'll need to run for them to fit. If it's too much wear, looks like I may have to get 18X7.5F and 18X8.5R, which sucks because those have crap offsets.

Oh yah w/ 17x9 +15 in the front it's pretty much a requirement to run a streched tire. Also I highly recomend camber plates too up front.

IT WILL STICK OUT PAST THE FENDER at almost no camber

After I installed coilovered I adjusted the camber accordinly to get it under the fender.

Please Henry you know its the style to have the wheels sticking out past the fenders. Its SUPER COOL. Ha ha. Really though I would go 18x9+15 in the front and 18x10+20 in the rear. Ya but thats just me.

I'm not trying to sound like an ass but I've already picked out which brand/style wheels I want and everyone keeps listing sizes/offsets that they don't even come in.

Boo fuckin hoo.

;) :D
Look into different wheels or start adding up spacers. Honestly, 18 inch wheels (anything over 17) look dumb as hell in less than 9 inches wide.

You should really post which coilovers, but for some, it would rub even with the 5mm spacer.

agreed...18 needs a 9 width...8.5 isn't horrible but a nicely offset 18x9.5 is ideal...

as your rears will be...

Tein HE, I think they are pretty small compared to some other beefier coilovers. Wheels are so hard, I'm starting to consider others... Nismo LM GT4's. I guess we'll just have to wait and find out.

so what does tha mean to you? how is it good/bad? do you know?

LMgt4s..didnt know you just won the lotta. those wheels are not cheap and the choices you are wanting i fear youll get the pathetic LM offsets hahahahahaha

Yes the offsets will be pathetic, so that's why I'm wondering. +12 rules, but I won't be able to get that to fit with what I'm willing to do. So it'll be +25 in the back if I go with them. I went to the Nissan dealer today and looked at them (18X9.5 +25) on the Nimso 250Z and the offset was pretty good, not flat for sure. So yeah, still deciding.

As far as the coil's go, thinner is not better, but when space is an issue I figued it was? Maybe not, I'm just doing a logical guess, I don't know everything. I know that the beefier JIC's are prolly better though.

my JICs clear my rims fine, no spacers, oh wait i have 17x7, +40, damn FWD offsets.... (they were really really cheap. with decent tires, and actually look alright, except for the whole sunken in thing.)
