Miata, S2K, NSX, IS300, and the MR-S. Honestly don't think there were any other options from '99-'03.

The IS300 and S2K seem to be the only ones that meets your criteria. If you look hard enough you can get those close to the $6k mark. Probably salvage though. 350Z would be the next candidate followed by the RX-8.
