PS2 or PSX Game questions???

I heard there is a racing game that you can do engine swaps and shtuff (yes shtuff) like that. Anyone know the answer to this question? I know that there is games like drag racing for the PC that you can do engine swaps, but I want to know if there are any for PS2 or PSX.

I'm thinking auto modellista, you can do engine swaps but cant really fix them up. The game was great for the first day but got boring really fast. They shuolda made more challanges.
