View Full Version : The Hard To Find/Unknown Companies Thread

okay so there are TONS of companies out there that most of us dont hear about. I figured I would start a thread and have people list companies that others may not know about or may not know that the company makes parts for Nissans. Those of us who have been in the scene for awhile may know these companies exist, but some of the new guys don't. The companies that are outside of the U.S.A. are actually some what hard to find on google unless you know the name of the company (if you google 240sx brake kits, you probably wont have Tarox, Hi Spec, Endless, ect. pop up) this can be a thread where you list the company/site and a photo of at least one thing that they make for Nissans that others may not know (you are more then welcome to say some stuff about the company and post more parts ect. about the company. From here, the person can research further and see what other parts they make for there car and in turn, have the best chance to picking the right part for his/her car
I came up with the idea when I saw some people not knowing any other brake companies then StopTech and Brembo. Im sure plenty of you have seen the same thing with people not knowing that more companies then just Tein or HKS made coilovers for a 240sx and the same goes with other companies and parts for a car.

RULES:

1. Only list companies that people may not know about.
2. Only list the company if it makes parts that work for Nissans (universals are included I.E. blow off valves)
3. Provide a Picture/Site if possible with the post
4. Don't post some Ebay company that makes junk
5. Don't post about a company that no longer exists
6. It can be for any part on a Nissan (bumper, seat, clutch, exhaust, gauges, ect.)
7. DON'T REPOST/QUOTE A COMPANY THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN SHARED.

to start it off.

pointless thread is pointless.
seriously??? ORC is HARDLY unknown....
just because 90% of zilvia gets their nuts wet over megan products doesn't mean some of us don't actually care about quality brands.
SLR Is a widely known brand, so is SPA, i will admit, i've never heard of that brake company tho.

i understand some zilvians/people know these companies exist...but others don't and some don't even know how to research for it (hense why I said "hard to find"). instead of ORC, they would probably only find exedy, spec, comp, and a couple others when there are actually dozens of GREAT clutch companies out there for nissans. If you don't feel like contributing to this thread in a positive way, then why post at all? Get your post up one more, thats cool man! This thread is made to help the new guys know that there are more companies out there then just what the 95% of people on zilvia use. Oh and you just learned that ORC does make brakes...your welcome :)

email them, thats what I did. you can also search for them on google and have the page translated. they have a triple plate that would do just fine.

I'd rather spend my money on OS Giken clutches...I'd probably look into triple plate clutch, you'd be borderline to what a twin plate can handle.

Like already stated, some of these companies are well known companies. They're just not big stateside due to lack of demand for them...not everybody got the loot to buy from them. How often do folks spend $800 on a damn clutch? Most guys around here barely afford a $400 ACT clutch...

Folks who buys parts from specialty shops that you listed usually have done alot of research that led them to said companies.

you're 19 and in florida. what in gods name are you worried about a 700hp capable clutch for? driveability? good luck.....

oh god yes, my post count went up one! time to change my shorts.
i've got a better idea, lets make a new thread and list ALL of the companies that make parts for nissans, you start. see how useful it is, k?

and

i was talking about the first picture, the company in the uk. i didn't know who they were. ORC is an old name, but even in the u.s. they are known, especially after they had yuuki izumida over in their r32 at some of the first drift events held at irwindale. if you really need a listing of "rare" companies that manufacture s-chassis parts, order yourself a hyper rev catalog. otherwise, we just have another useless thread that is gonna get cluttered up with fanboys who can hardly afford godspeed. we already have MANY pic threads, as well as a "rare parts" thread.

'zactly. who gives 2 shits about a picture thread for the small manufacturers in japan when IF anyone stateside does actually get ahold of their parts, everyone else just bitches "when oh god when will someone please make a knockoff?!?!"

The funny part is alot of these guys werent around before 2002...back in the good ol days of just finding an S-chassis part stateside is slim to none. Shit, everybody had a hard-on when Tein finally started bringing their suspension stateside.

That is exactly the point of this thread hah. Its here to let the new guys know about the parts that are out there. Some people don't like to be a cookie cutter with certian parts, which is why these companies are a great choice.

okay one, why bother talking shit on a guy wanting a clutch to hold 700hp when you don't even know him or his money situation? two, the post count thing was just a joke, lets all calm down. three, just because ORC has been around for awhile doesn't mean all the new people know about it. Im sorry you dislike the thread, but no one said you had to read it. not everyone looks for knock off parts...just look at my build thread. there are plenty of people on this forum building quality cars and are trying to make them more unique then everyone elses. Last, nothing about this thread required you to thread bash. all it is meant to be, is an easy place to check to get some ideas on some parts companies that you may not of heard of before. thanks again for the thread bash, real cool.

why the fuck when somethread that can HELP someone/anyone out, it needs to be locked?
if he would of posted "MY MEGANS POWDER COATED SPERM WHITE" niether one of you would of opened the link and spent the minutes of your life degrading him or his thread choice
i myself have been in the drift seen since 99, like it was said , back in the day when the interweb was young and no google,no youtube we had to work at getting anything for our cars, most of the time modifing domestic parts
so i ask of you and zilvia in general, just stop, you dont like it stfu, the thread would be eventually lost in the sea of threads forgotten,
i knew of most of them and the truth i had forgotten of SBC..... so it helped me out thank you OP, at my age its hard to retain much in the brain and bladder
lets see what our friend from san fran can contribute to the thread, positive please, just curios to see if there is some small garage fabricator that i have not heard about and you can share, or mabe flip, care to share?

I will add more when I get a chance. These arent that bad price wise and they are a bit different then what most people get.

If any of you know any companies that are hard to find without typing the actual name into google to find it, please post it up to help everyone else out in the forum community.

I'm kind aglad I stumbled onto this thread. I never heard of "hipposleek" before, and after tooling around their site, I seen a cupholder/table thing that attaches to the front of the dash, over the glove box. The site says it's been discontinued, but I guess now if I ever hear of one for sale or something, I'll know what it is. Maybe I'll try to fab my own up =]
