What is the stock HP at the wheels for a s14

145-150rwhp.

Typical ratio to subtract from the flywheel horsepower figure is 10-15%.

So 165 less 10% = 148rwhp.

except for the fact that it has 155hp

155(.9)=139.5

I thought we lost more than that?

If not, then how come the sohc dyno at HMPMotorsports on their site (b/4 turbo) is only 100rwhp?

And a dyno at the AEM intake install at 240sx.org shows an s14 having 115rwhp....

Cars with FR layouts have more parasitic loss because they are having to turn a drive shaft running the length of the vehicle, where as FF and RR/MR cars have the wheels right under the engine and don't have that long shaft to turn.

id say at least 15%-25% loss in hp. what 240sx said is tru and it also depends on how strong the clutch is. probably. with a 20% hp loss its 124 rwhp or 116.25 rwhp with a 25% loss.

my car stock (cone air filter i guess) with around 90k miles pulled 142.6 to the wheels. At 15% that's 165hp. At 10% it's closer to the 155hp, but 10% is really pushing it (and this is probably the same tranny/diff oil that has been in the car since new).

hmm, I always heard the S14's had 170hp stock(crank). Wonder why nissan only gave it 155hp(crank)

That's pretty #### good. I wonder what my car runs..hmmm Well, when I get my return I will be working with my shop to get some new go-fast stuff for the 240 and may put it on the dyno.
