For the life of me I can't figure out whats going on with my power steering pulley. From around 1100 rpm to 2000 rpm it'll make this high pitch squeaking noise. If I go to spray some WD40 on the nut that holds the pulley on, it'll go away. But eventually, 2 or 3 days later it'll come back until I spray some more WD40 on it.

My belt is only about 3 or 4 months old, I've already tried loosening the belt and retightening it to proper tension. I've replaced the nut and lock washer for the pulley to a new one and it still does it. ATF fluid is in the pump filled up the according levels. In no way is any performance lost when the squeak is made, everything runs normal as it always does, its just the noise won't seem to go away. I'm at the point where I might just get a whole new power steering pump/pulley... lol

It could be a faulty pump, but spraying wd40 anywhere around the belt isnt exactly a good idea. The sound could be there because the wd40 is causing the belt to slip. Wipe down the pulley and belt and try it again. Make sure its tight too.

I have done this as well. I don't spray it everywhere, literally a little spray on the actual nut that holds on the pulley and the sound instantly goes away.

Also, the squeak range seems to be from 1100 to 2500 rpm.

I'll try this, seems like the solution since its an aftermarket chrome pulley.

Did you even read the thread? This is the first thing I did.
