ok, my friend has a 97 civic with a b18 from an integra gsr and some vtec head, he said it was "frankensteined" i've heard of that before but i know nothing of hondas, anyways we are going out to a night club downtown he in his car (cause he isn't 21 and might not be able to get in) me in my 95 with intake, 5zigen, act clutch, asp pulley. we stop at a light not far from my house and it's me in the first lane a dodge r/t in the middle and my friend on the outside. we are goofing off revving and such, anyways light turns green and i stay back to watch my friend in the civic keep up with a nice r/t. #### that car is fast. we keep going and i pull up next to him going like 45 on the freeway we both hit it and he instantly pulls half a car on me. in 3rd i pull all the way to 80 shift quick and by 85 he's put a car and a half on me. it only got worse from there. #### civics and there top end! i feel it would have been a little closer off the line but his car is quick! i think i still would have lost. bad news is that he has a 75 shot and didn't spray, worse news is he has a t3/t4 turbo on order. good news is that he is a sales manager at a new import shop and has offered to give me big discounts if i sport his shops sticker on my ride. i feel like such a whore with the sticker, but as long as i am hooked up i don't mind so much.

COOL deal. Hey how many miles you got in you're KA? If low miles it's time for turbo. If high miles SR baby.
You need turbo to keep with that guy in a straight line. I don't about Auto-x.

is that the integra motor with the japanese CR-V head? i think i've heard of that before. saw a hatch in a magazine that ran 11's with that swap and a turbo

my ka has 97k on it, so i am thinking it's sr time. my car also has at the moment stock suspension were as my friend in the civic has coilovers and 2 inch drop. so even on the track he'd get me. he is a really good friend of mine so the rivarly is heating up! i don't know which head it is but i'll ask him this weekend and find out more about his engine. he thinks with the nos and new turbo he'll be good for low 12's high 11's. just speculation on his part until he get's it done.

LS/VTEC
B18A/B bottom end with a VTEC top end (B16A or B18C). Reprogramming the computer or using a fuel controller to activate VTEC. Tapped the oil lines to properly lubricate the new top end. It's a Frankenstein motor because the Integra base models' engine (B18A on 90-93's/B18B 94-01) have great low end power, but the top end sucks with a VTEC head, which most VTEC engines sorta suck off the line, but once VTEC kicks in, the top end comes alive. Combine the two and you've got the LS/VTEC setup. The "LS" is the most common base model that people get even though there's an RS model, so they automatically associate non-VTEC Integras that way, in case you're wondering.
Just don't act surprised when you get smoked by a hybrid Civic. They're quick little bastards. Usually they're the least obviously tuned Hondas. For all you know, the Civic hatchback sitting at the end of your street lowered on Integra wheels with stock corner lights and no stickers might just have a Type R motor in there. It could happen. =)
It's happened at one of the illegal drags in California. My friend told me once there was some guy who rolled up in a stock looking Civic CX and smoked the #### out of an Integra. They popped open the hood only to find a red valve cover with the word "DOHC VTEC" on it. The guy had a B18C5 from an Integra Type R in there. x_X

ACe: you're going to be running low boost 5psi (custom job). I think that KA can take it. But I'm no expert.
Rabbit: Man you're bone more ways then I thought. You better get a SR quick. Or you'll never beat him. I think SR are only capable of mid 14's stock.
#### little civics! Anyway when you get upgrade suspension and a SR you'll own him. Because high power FF will just understeer at high power levels. So you can take him at the tracks with good driving skillZ then or even now.

Yea, I frequent honda-tech.com and I was sorta "raised" in high school to be a Honda fan. Plus I drive a Honda myself. All that time I was just a closet 240SX/180SX fanatic since 1996. I also loved S14's and Skylines. Hehehe. I learned a bit here and there when I live and breath cars for a while and read up on a lot of articles, boards, and talk to friends.
ha! you need a T3/T04
hay, I got one for sale!! lol
its a honda, you got the money you can get speed.

LoL... just curious... how much for the T3/04?? I was thinking T04e for the KA.... right now I have a Mitsu TD06... but no manifold, and a RRFPR for fuel. I might wait to complete the project using a better fuel system though.... (proper fuel delivery is most important to not blowing up my engine...) and if I wait I might as well go with a better turbine (the TD06 will get me to 5 lbs max.... but I'm not looking for much. Just a kick in the pants. LoL)

TD06's only max out to 5 lbs? That's sad...considering that's the same turbo that's going to be included with GReddy's smog legal turbo kit. =/
i am asking $650, its a t3/t04b so it spools up very nice but you max out at 18psi, great for 5-7psi, full boost at 2800-3000rpm, i also emailed you-ace

that'll depend on the wheel trim, A/R, etc. Greddy's system isn't exactly the same as the mitsu system, and this one I got off a Volvo so it's comparable to a low trim T3.

LoL... I was just curious.... eventually I'm going to a built engine (waiting for my indecisive friend to swap to his SR so I can buy his block and rebuild it) and hoping for a good 400-500rwhp.... most likely I'll need the T04e. For now I think I'll stick to the TD06 or possibly get a T3 and rebuild it (like $200 max) since I still have to redo the fuel system entirely before handling over 5-7 lbs of boost (I don't trust the RRFPR THAT much). Thanks anyways tho.... I'm sure someone else will jump on it... it would make an awesome turbo for an SR (possibly useless hyping, LoL)
well good luck to you!
hope you got a lot of money to if you want 400-500wrhp
i spent a whole lot so far and i am about there

I like the comment about the fast neon r/t... the car that never gets respect... I had one and kicked ass all over... and look at the new scc... there is a neon - all motor doing 11.4 that is nuts... and only 12.0:1 compression... honda's need 15-16:1 and WAY more engine work... no respect... no respect, the rodney dangerfield of the sc world. lol.

i saw a throttle body swap on a neon and i think they gained like 5hp from that alone! i have a 2.5l 24valve v6 and i'm pretty darn sure our engines won't get 5 hp from a frickin throttlebody... and those suckers bein all lightweight and dopey lookin make it a relaly good sleeper ... believe me.. i know

u were on 3rd and shifted @ 80, that's when he pulled length on you? i don't know 'bout the s14, but the s13 i'd shift @ a higer point like 85 or 90 epending on the rpm, i believe you can hit 90 on 3rd, since i get speed limited on 4 around 5-6k rpm
rabbit23

80 in 3rd is redline in the s14 and since my car is stock with just a few boltons i don't think shifting any higher would help. after boost though is a different story. oh and the r/t i was referring to was the truck. it was lowered and looked mean, 5.9liters! those trucks are fast.

I have seen LS/VTECs that run 200+ at the wheels , bone stock, after the conversion.

A good friend of mine bought has a 93' LS Integra, he put a vtec head on it, skunk2 ecu, intake-header-exhaust, and pulleys. #### that car is fast.
Stock for stock (98 s14) I could beat him.
Now its not even a race, he destroys me.

Seems to me like I need an Integra engine, stat.
No?

In your Del Sol? Sure, why not. Unless you wanna chicken out like some people and "settle" for a B16A2/3 (Del Sol VTEC, Civic Si[R]) instead of a 'teg engine.

hmm, I've seen an integra GS with a LS vTEC engine swap. They're pretty #### quick. Too bad it lost to my friends GSR /w turbo/engine mods.

That's what my 1998 SE manual says however
1st ..30
2nd 15..55
3rd 25..85
4th 30..max
5th 38..max

that's a bad ass hatch...any hatchback with an engine swap that is well done will be fast...the GS-R engine is pretty good already my friend had a Integra GS-R with a Jackson Supercharger and that is one quick ass mofo..makes me not want to drive my 240....hehe...but nothing can compare to real RWD....
