please don't buy a carbon fiber hood for looks, you should buy the hood because it saves you weight and makes it faster, if you're not, please spend $400 (or whatever they cost) somewhere else

I wouldn't mind using hood-pins if that makes a difference.

With carbon fiber hoods, you don't HAVE to, but it's recommended. Since "some" hoods tend to vibrate at high speeds. You wouldn't want that sucker to fly open and smack your windshield. I've seen that happen to a CRX on a video clip. Most people get carbon fiber hoods for looks. Most Honda guys get it for that "JDM" look. Some just want their hoods to be lighter and at the same time, look cool.
For the original question, here ya go.

Now here's a question: Where can I get carbon fiber hoods for the truck? I'm serious. Anyone know someone who makes them? I've found fiberglass, but no aluminum or cf.

Hmm..contact Fiber Images to see if they make an application for your truck. I'm sure there are more companies that make 'em. I'll look into it. I mean, ####, if there's c/f hoods that exists for Toyota Tacomas and Ford pickups, why not your truck?

Blah, I've searched around the net for a while and I haven't found one yet. I think it's gonna have to be a custom hood that's made to order. It's not common for people to put carbon fiber hoods on Nissan trucks. =/
..but for some damned reason they got 'em for the Dodge Ram. WTF....

if you are willing to spend some time working, you can make your own... you just need to be a bit industrious and willing to shell out some bucks for the materials
and it makes things easier if you have a throwaway hood...
you make a male and female mold of the hood with fiberglass/polyester resin using a fine gelcoat and industrial mold release (none of this is particularly hard to use or get, be careful with temperatures)
basically form the cf in 2 parts ie hood top and supposrts underneath (if you use the same suppost pattern as factory, it makes things pretty easy, then you bond the two laminate platers together...
vast oversimplification, but i did this (read that watched because cf is expensive) with an acquaintance of mine who is building a golfIV rally car... #### cool, #### good driver...
hood pins are a myust, latches are a bitch to support...

That blueish S14 with the blue/black CF hood in ATL is Russ Goggans...He's on the 240sx list. It's from FiberImages. I think he said the blue costs like 150 extra or something. They have the best quality CF hoods that I know of for our cars.

Fiber Images is good stuff. They come with the rubber weather stripping around the hoods, which is great to lessen the gap between the fenders, grill/bumper, and the hood. The quality is fantastic. They even have a video of the hoods getting runned over by a riced out Sentra and have a dude jump up and down on them.

Actually I think it was a Jetta that ran their hood over...They also drop a wheel (with the tire on of course) onto the hood. Take into mind it's the same hood for the wheel, person, and car taking abuse! Virtually indestructable! The only thing that happens to it, is the tow hook on the Jetta scratches the finish on it.

One guy in the Generation 2 Integra Club had a carbon fiber hood on his GS-R. A truck partily rolled over his front end. His headlights got smashed, his bumper was messed up, but only one corner of the carbon fiber hood was bent. If you get in a car accident, either way you're screwed. It's not like there are any hoods made in the world that would survive any front end impact.
