ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST -- Two men died and two other people were hospitalized Sunday following a crash between a car and an SUV on San Gabriel Canyon Road, authorities said.

The crash took place just before 4:30 p.m. about three miles south of East Fork Road, in the forest north of Glendora, according to California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.

Two men who were riding in a Nissan 240SX when it collided with a Nissan Xterra SUV containing a man and woman, officials said.

The two men in the car were pronounced dead at the scene, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.

The man and woman who were in the SUV were flown by helicopter to an area hospital in unknown condition, fire officials said.

Officials from the Baldwin Park office of the CHP were investigating the cause of the crash.

So does anyone know these two guys?

I view these situations the same as motorcyclists that die doing twisties. (If) they were doing something illegal, and they died so be it. They knew the risk and still did it. It's unfortunate that they also hurt innocent people.

Guys die doing this type of crap all the time, you just don't hear it all the time. Problem is a lot of people don't know when to step off the accelerator, even on the track i've seen it, and before you know it they are in the dirt. You can't expect to push your limits and live forever. Lives were lost, which is sad, but worst of all innocent people got hurt.

We dont know exactly what happened . 40,000 a year is the average number of automobile related deaths in the US. Im not saying I know what happened , but we see and hear people doing stupid shit all the time while driving . Texting ,eating , reading , drinking. Count yourself lucky if youve ever had a close call.

drive safe everyone. my condolences to the surviving family....

everyone here seems to be blaming these kids just cause they were in a 240sx. Has any report actually said they were doing something stupid or are you guys just stereotyping your own cars?

RIP either way.
