This has probably been asked millions of times but I searched and couldn't find anything. Anyways I wan to buy a VLSD from an S13 but as you all know they are used and some have been ragged on pretty bad, so I wanted to find out if they could be rebuild by any shop and the usual going rate if so. Forgive my mechanics ignorance.
Thanx

best to call up a shop and see, price out the parts too.

Ill sell you my VLSD it hasnt been ragged on but its going to be expeisive!!! LOL

I know they can be rebuilt but you might be better off getting a brand new one, search for Phantom Grip and Tomei, these are 2 brand new VLSD i am thinking off the top of my head

That is some hardcore misinformation right there twitchy. Tomei LSD's are clutch type and the phantom grip is something different as well if I remember correctly.

misnomer

Hehehe, the phantom grip is just a device you slap in your regular open differential to try and lock it. We don't want another discussion on those, the last one got ugly.

The only VLSDs I know of for our cars are the factory ones from the 240, Z, and J30

A factory VLSD is definitely the cheapest route for a decent limited slip differential. Back on topic, does anybody know about repairing these? Can the viscous fluid be replaced?
