It can sometimes be a problem walking into a junkyard in Japan and getting stuff now, especially clips. Many of the bigger yards have deals with places (like US companys) where clips are sold before they even get there. It's the same way with motors. Alot of yards won't let you just buy a motor anymore unless you are buying a number of them or purchasing at least "x" amount every month.

Hes in tokyo i think* Most likely.. lol..
but yea, you're right, cuz we got ahold of a company even though they are closed due to the holidays right now, but they were only selling clips/motors in "cases" which holds up to 20 motors.. and guess wat? Its dirt cheap! So my bro said he'll try to make a deal w/them on a single clip first.. and slowly get more.. since we run a shop here in Denver...
lol, his friend was lookin for a clip earlier this year, and tried to get us to buy a whole car since its much easier to buy one and its super cheap too.

He said "ghey" because unless your friend or whatever has a container, there is no way in hell he's gonna get you a halfcut.
It's harder now to get cuts in Japan and you generally need to know people. The cuts are usually sold before the yards even get them.
And he aint gonna find anything in the Tokyo area...
Given the hassles with customs and tax, not to mention freight, youre better off getting one from a local importer/shop.

even though it may sound negitive, hes right. I am stationed in Okinawa japan (a military island south of mainland) I've been here for 6 months and hit up just about every junk yard known to man on island. Even if you find what your looking for, you still got to find means to half the car and send it home. Even for military in space available mail, your going to pay close to a dollar a pound to send stuff home.
its easy to get little things here and there, but its probably safer and easier to get the stuff locally.
You got to think, what they are importing to the states is the best of what they have to offer. The wrecked cars here are wrecked good. Unless you find a rear impact, i prolly wouldnt trust it.
if your friend is up in tokyo, tell him to try looking around the yokohama area or ruppunghi area. You'll prolly have better luck towards yoko, but its worth a shot.
alright im out
