View Full Version : Speaking of leather seats...

Leather seats vs. cloth seats are being discussed in other threads, so I thought I would start this one...
I too would like something nicer than cloth seats in my car. A lot of people are talking about leather, but the bottom line is that leather is more expensive and less practical than neoprene. Plus, I think neoprene feels really nice.
(A friend told me, jokingly, that I should get neoprene sheets on my bed she likes it so much.) (I told her only if she'd sleep in them, but that's a different story.)
Anyway, my question is coming... I've found a place in Hawaii called Okele or something that will sell custom-fit to your year/make/model and in your choice of two colors for $225. That's the price for just two front seats, but that's also all the seats I have. =) So, that said, does anyone know of other places I should check?
Thanks.

i don't know any other places but actually my brother owns a jeep tj and has recently purchased these okael?? neoprene seat covers you speak of. they are pretty cool except there black and have white lettering by the head rest that says hawainan okeal???something like that. personally if you could get them without the writting on them i'd say go for it. they are fairly nice seat covers and a pretty good bang for your buck. also he got them like half price so if you could catch them on sale it would be well worth your while.
for $679 Leatherseats.com will make a two tone leather package custom fit to your car with free embroidery and it also is for the rear seats along with the glove box and door panel inserts. Well worth the $ if you ask me. I will be ordering one of these kits ASAP for my s13 as I am a total beleiver in leather. I will also get the aftermarket seat warmers

I'm pretty sure you can opt to have something else embroidered instead of their name, so I'm going to opt for that. A sale would be nice, yeah, but even at $225, they're less than half of leather already. =)
Your brother told 'em what car he had and the made the covers specifically for it, right? More than how they feel and stuff like that, how do they look? Like, do they fit snuggly?

I am with west.... leatherseats.com does REALLY nice work. And it is 679 for ANY car... it gets to be more when it is trucks or whatever. You can even get suede if you want. And on top of that I know I will have silvia embroidered into the headrest, or the nissan symbol or something... so much cooler to me. The only possible downfall to leather? Slipperier... but we got good seats, and vipers, lambo's and ferraris are all leather, so that is what I am talking about. And with Katskinz they also make inserts for the cloth in your doors. Great quality and great look

The one thing I have heard about those okale??? covers is that the colors on them fade really quick. Not a problem if you get all black though.

a friend of mine had the neoprene covers in his 5.0 convertable. best looking covers i've seen. i had to much to drink one night and didn't quite make it out the window (he wouldn't pull over) anyways what a mess. we just pulled into the local car wash and sprayed them off. good as new except for the smell.

well personaly i like cloth better just because down here in miami its too hot for leather and you burn you ass off everytime you get into your car after 30 min of it sittin in the sun. but id go for the leather. unless you get your interior dirty a lot. then go for neoporene or however you spell it.

Personally, I would pull over at the slightest hint that someone was going to be sick in my car. The very thought of it.... ugh.
I had to pull off a couple hundred feet from an onramp to be ill once. It wasn't fun

yeah, i think there a good looking cover. they fit prettysnug and like you say if you can get something else embroidered on them that'd be pretty cool.
i did wonder about fading though b/c neopreme does fade. if anyone out there has a wet suit most of thse fad with time and they get way less sun than car seats

I've got leather. . but I'm going to get Wet Okole seat covers to protect it... wear 'em when I'm in the mood. .that sorta thing =) I dig on the black / tan combo. . I've got a couple swatches from 'em. . the tan'd look good. . my shit's already black and tan, so why not. . hehe. . BTW! Wet Okole in Hawaiian means "WET ASS"
