I was reading on 240sx.org and one of the members said they got the apexi n1 shipped to their door for $376. I have yet to seen them sell for under $400, and also there's usually an outrageous shipping charge. Can anyone help me?

If you want a cheap exhaust, just wait for a groupbuy. It'll take longer to get your item if it's coming from Japan. I know raretrick started one up before Christmas but everyone was too broke to jump in on it so they are going to start it up again this month I'm sure. Give them a call and ask about it. Otherwise they sell some nice exhausts for cheap from smaller Japanese shops like URAS and YASHIO FACTORY.

I know URAS and YASHIO are good companys, but wouldn't the exhaust have to be shipped from Japan? Are you sure that raretrick.com is going to start up another group buy?

I was thinking of a flowmaster muffler... Mines factory and its starting to show rust quite a bit. I want a dual outlet flowmaster (40 series?) and ill put some tips on it and paint er up for as stock a look as possible.

Any thoughts?

Do you think waiting for a group buy to start is the best idea? My dad is going to pay the first $215 and i have to pay the difference (kinda like a late christmas present). Either way, i wont be paying more than $300 difference.

have you looked at custom piping at all? Find where all the camaro and mustang owners where you live get their exhaust done and have that place bend you up some pipe, you can save big and get a nicer muffler or something, but thats just me. I wanted a catback and it was made from stainless steel. Once I got over the fact that no one sees the plumbing under my car anyhow i had some custom pipe bent up and saved $300

stock muffler as well. Just a little nicer sounding

Let us know what you decide on cause i cant wait till spring, I want to do mine, but im starting with a header

as well, im going to try and post a sticky thread on exhaust sounds, like videos in and out of the car to hear how everyones car sounds

I didnt have custom exhaust in mind. Mainly because most of these performance companies know what they are doing. They have spent millions of dollars in research finding the best way possible for the piping. I know performance gains wont matter now but by the time i go turbo i want to have a good 3" exhaust.

Hey Twitchy, your planning on going all motor?

planning to keep it stock looking as much as possible, no lowering, no rims.

maintenance so its in good shape

it runs and rides like new, immaculate paint too. I want to get an intake and header, and rig some sort of exhaust that looks and sounds as close to stock as possible in the spring..

all motor?? well...i like power thats smooth and quiet so well see what happens. It will be a slow progression but if I had the money i would probably supercharge.

I didn't think there is a supercharger available for the 240. You could save your money and maybe develop one..???

A lot of the sites I go to have free shipping on orders over $200. Does that also include the n1, or is the n1 an exception since it has to be shipped by freight?

Optionimports.com has the Megan polished stainless steel 3in. cat-back exhaust for both the S13 and S14 for $308 shipped.

Everything else you find will be over $400+shipping.

I dont really like the way the megan looks, or at least on the s13. I havent heard any good things about the megan catbacks either.

So you're telling me that there's no such thing as FREE SHIPPING on an n1?

The problem with getting free shipping on an N1 is that someone has to pay for it. Exhausts are not cheap, even if they are being shipped business to business its $30-40.

Its true most places charge 40-50 for shipping but these are the places that are offerring those 380-390 prices.

Its simple logistics; unless a company can purchase 10-20 at a time(and sell them) they will not be making much money on the exhaust and therefore will not be able to sell the n1 for less than $400

Your best bet is to wait for a group buy or just pay the 20-30 more and get your exhaust within a week.

So say i ship it to my dad's work, then the shipping wont be nearly as much as shipping it to my house?
