might wanna include in the description that the tach will not work with DOHC engines unless you do some serious surgery. *I have an SOHC cluster with my sr and it's totally worth the rad cluster!*
just tryin to save you some post-sale headaches :wiggle:

I know this isn't the place to discuss this :o but I have seen it somewhere on switching DOHC tachs in. Not a DIY just discussions of it. I am in the process of deciding weather or not I want to attempt a tach transplant or just get an aftermarket tach gauge and a pod behind the steering wheel. If I do the tach swap I will do my best to make a write up and document it for anyone else wanting to do this. I love the look of the HUD and digi speedo. everything else on the cluster will work. mine is a testament to that.

I read that there's like 1-2 wires that needs to be swapped from the DOHC harness that was originally used and install it on the SOHC plug. Everything else works except for the tach unless the swap is completed. Someone else told me that I can swap analog DOHC tach harness to the SOHC... Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was reading a bit more on it. This is what I compiled
first method: If you can grab a DOHC cluster from a junkyard or ebay it's a drop in replacement. 3 screws in back. Although you may have to slightly trim the outside to fit, and the needle is a few mm too long so you have to snip it a bit. no biggie though.

secondary method: splicing straight into the signal wire from the ECU.

third method: http://forums.nicoclub.com/converting-your-sohc-tach-to-read-dohc-signal-t272023.html (basically running your own signal wire from coil to the cluster)

i purchased a used oem cluster for my sohc but found out later that it was for a dohc cause the tach didnt work so i just swapped the tach from my old sohc cluster to the "newer" dohc cluster everytime works fine.
