I just finished installing my Setrab oil-cooler on my car and upon further research found that this may cause some issues but also found evidence that says otherwise. I installed my oil cooler upside down(fittings facing down) has anyone run into any problems with this setup? I will be removing both lines and pouring oil down one of the lines while the air escapes out the other until oil comes out the other line, but will this cause additional problems in the long run? Here is what my setup looks like.

Looks good as long as air hits it you should be fine ...if anything run one of those mini fans on it for extra protection

I am running a Greddy sandwich plate with built in thermostat but will I have any oil starvation issues on start-up, also will there remain an air-pocket on the top portion of the the cooler or will the air escape as soon as the T-stat opens up?

Come on people the "school me on oil cooler setup" thread doesn't mention any info on this topic.

If you're that worried about air on initial startup just unhook the return from the cooler and prime the system to work the air out. Is there a drain plug on the top so you can let the air out? Irrelevant, I think the oil will be viscious enough to force the air almost completely out.

With a T-stat on, oil wont have to loop all the way out to the cooler so dont worry about cold starts. Also, once the cooler gets oil in it, it should stay in there. You're cooler is still lower than the oil filter location so its not like the oil will drain out of it.
