Hey everyone, this is my girlfriend's car, and she is looking to move on to something else, so her 240sx is for sale.
Model: 1989 240sx. NO sunroof and roll up windows.
VIN: PM me for VIN. I will write it down tomorrow.
Mileage: On chassis:263,5xx . The engine has a lot less.
Title: Clean, clear, and ready to be signed over.
Location: Carrollton, GA. 45 minutes west of Atlanta.
She has owned the car since summer of 2010. We bought it from the previous owner relatively stock (Besides the horrendous "paint" job), and have worked on it from there. The car had 255,000 miles at time of purchase, it now has 263,540 miles to be exact. It's been a good car, but she just wants something a little newer and more DD-able. She takes great care of the car and she does not beat on it.
Engine and Drivetrain: We did the KA24DE swap over the summer. I used all the appropriate parts from my own personal car, including all the appropriate PS lines. The engine has a number of mods and maintenance which I will list below. The engine starts up every time and has never left me stranded. It could use a valve adjustment sometime in the near future, but it is not desperately needed. The car has NO A/C, and no a/c compressor mounted. It does have heat which works well, as well as power steering. The engine leaks no oil and uses no oil. The transmission fluid was just replaced with Redline. The PO told me the transmission had a stage 2 clutch, but that is hearsay. However, the clutch does grab well and does not slip whatsoever. The car is equipped with an Ebay cat-back exhaust.
I did a ton of tuneup, performance, and basic maintenance to the engine while it was out. The car does not have a mechanical fan. It uses the auxiliary fan for the ac compressor which is wired to a switch in the interior. No overheating problems with this setup. The engine has great compression numbers, and pulls the car around fairly well for a N/A 4 cylinder.
-248 cam swap
-S14 intake manifold (No butterfly valves)
-ARP headstuds
-New Felpro head gasket
-New oil pan gasket
-New thermostat
-Nismo driver side engine mount
-Professionally painted valve cover
-K&N drop in filter -Tapped oil pan
-NEW spark plugs, and plug wires.
Exterior: The car is mostly stock exterior wise. It has it's fair share of dings. Most are very insignificant, with the worst dents in the lower rear quarter panels. The rear bumper was pushed in at some point and has a small crease. I have a pretty clean white bumper if the buyer wants it. For a 22 year old 240sx, the body is decent. The paint on the other hand, looks bad. The car needs a paint job. It was once red, and the PO painted it semi gloss black for some reason. The car does come with a pignose lip which she has added. It will also come with 180sx visors which need mounting and repair. They have multiple cracks, and one is physically in 2 pieces. Count them as a freeby with purchase. The car is equipped with 8000k HID's. The highbeams do not work. The car has NO sunroof so that is good. However, the windshield will leak a bit in a heavy downpour. The headlights do not go down. They will pop-up, however.
Suspension and wheels: The suspension has a number of things done to it. The car is equipped with KYB GR2 dampers all the way around, as well as Ground Control coil overs. Up front, the car is equipped with Cusco camber plates, and Ebay tension arms. At the rear, the car has ISIS toe arms. The car was recently serviced at Butler tire to have an alignment done. The car drives straight as an arrow and is pretty fun to drive on curvy roads. However, the ride is NOT smooth by any means. You will feel every pot hole and bump in the road. The car has newer cross drilled and slotted rotors all around. The wheels are MAE Riverside dish. They were purchased from VRwheels.com. The tires have a ton of tread left and are ready to be driven on for the next 10,000 or so miles at least.
The specs are as follows:
REAR 18x9.5 et13 Toyo Proxes 225/40
FRONT 18x8.5 et13 Falken Ziex 215/40
Interior: The interior of the car is mostly stock with the exception of S14 front and rear seats. The car has a 6 bolt steering wheel hub. THE STEERING WHEEL SHOWN WILL NOT BE INCLUDED. However, I have a black leather wheel that I can replace it with. I imagine a male buyer would prefer that over the pepto-bismol pink wheel that the car is currently equipped with. Keep in mind the owner is a girl, so the shift boot, and glove box are in a zebra pattern. The needles for the gauges are pink. The tachometer was swapped with the DOHC one, so all the gauges function as they should. The dash has 3 cracks. The car does have a privacy cover for the hatch. The car will come with new hatch shocks, but one of the upper mounting points stripped when we were installing them. If I have the time, I will fix this problem.
The only real drivability issue with the car is that is has an idle problem. The engine will start up and idle just fine. For some reason, if you are cruising in gear and press the clutch in, the RPM's will drop very low (around 300-400) and the engine will occasionally die. I do not know what the problem is. I have cleaned the IACV and tinkered with a number of things. The engine will start right back up every time though. I took a good but of time writing this ad and going over the car. I believe I have outlined everything a potential buyer should know so there is no time-wasting on either party's end. If you are interested, please PM me and I will send you my contact information. Thank you.
As the car sits: $3500 If you wish to purchase the car without wheels: $2500, bring your own 4x114.3 wheels.
