another one bites the dust..

so my car was totalled tonight..:(

i'm really upset about it..dunno what is going to happen...wasn't my fault..

brief synopsis..

travelling north bound on 6th street in downtown San Francisco...saw a civic at the intersection about 50 ft in front of me try to turn left in front of on coming traffic..don't ask me why..she DID NOT have a turn light...an Xterra coming south on 6th street collided with the civic head on (driver's side headlight hit driver's side headlight)..he bounced off of her and landed with a flat front left tire...this caused him to vere behind her and into my lane..then instead of hitting his brakes he just let the car run at about 30-35mph head on into me...

so much for my car...drivers side strut tower is just about at the firewall...entire front end is gone...silvia conversion, FRP wide body fenders, etc...radiator and engine are now one unit..lol..

anyone know of any good deals on a coupe shell in good shape?..

oh and no one was hurt..myself, my friend, and my sister were in my car...it crumpled perfectly taking the brunt of the impact..my neck and back are sore...as are the other people's...i'll go to the doctor tomorrow...but all things considered we were quite lucky...

now i have to deal with insurance companies...BLAH!..

I'm glad that you are alright and keep both eyes open for another coupe. Hopefully your insurance company doesn't screw you over because of your not-so-stock front end. You might be able to recover the money for it. You might get money for your sore neck and back as well as all the other people in the car. Good luck.

that sucks man. i'm glad ur not hurt though. this year must be a bad year for 240s. between the internet and word of mouth this is like the 8th totalled 240 story ive heard in the past few months alone. good luck with the insurance company! when my old car got totalled it took about 50 phone calls with multiple calls daily over 1.5 weeks to get my $$$. i hope they pay you for all ur add-ons too. :T

There is a green coupe shell for sale for like 1k. It was just posted in the for sale forum. Guys name is stock4door.

And there is another possible black coupe in the Palo Alto area, but I dunno if its still for sale or not. They were not exactly advertising it when I last checked. Send a PM and I'll give you the info.

I don't know how laws are over there, but the owner of the Civic would have to pay for everything....meaning you should have EVERYTHING covered. You just have to pester them (insurance company) and don't always go for the first offer. Take advantage of your "medical needs"....the same for your passengers.

They'll have to change "6th st." to "240 street of death", earlier today I spun out on the freeway but was lucky and regained control. A LOT of accidents happening this month alone, i'm uber careful now in the rain, I think this month is just bad luck or something

yup...definately will do it differently this time around...we'll see what happens...i'm definately not giving up though...too many goals for this next year!!

and all that damage was WITH a bumper support...i still had my stock one on under the s14 bumper...the X-Terra hit me so hard it knocked it completely off..it's in my trunk now..fuckin crazy..the impact also sent one of my silvia headlights sliding half a block down the road..took me like 10 min just to find it..i was all..what the hell..it couldn't have just dissintegrated..lol..

yeah the wheels are ok...at least three of my coilovers are ok..the 4th remains to be seen when i get it off but i am 80% sure it will be ok..pillowball mounts are forgiving in a sense..:)

haha..and i'll be having a big ass PANDA sticker made again as soon as i find another car!!..:D

yeah i'm waiting for that silver lining..lol..hopefully it gets here sooner rather then later...

and yeah, i'm decently savvy with legal issues so i'm not tooooo worried about all that..but i'm not out to screw anyone over either...i just want what i'm entitled to as far as value of the car...i'm not terribly concerned with the money for the silvia conversion..i see that almost being more trouble them it's worth...so i'll be happy with high blue book...i really am just crossing my fingers for a somewhat hassel free ordeal with the insurance companies..if that's possible..

and it looks like the X-Terra may be responsible for my car...since he technically hit me...then i think he will have to go after the civic driver to be reimbursed..but it all remains to be seen..

hahah...nah..not really my style (well that body kit is, it's the sex...but the car itself is not)..if i went mazda it'd be an FD..not to mention there is a certain someone with an FC already...soooooo

appt is set for this wed to look at the car...then they will determine it is a "total loss"..then they need to determine fault as it was a multi car accident...i am the only one who was definately NOT at fault...then i will get my check from the insurance company deemed at fault..

they are actually moving decently quickly with it...hopefully they continue to do so..

if all goes as planned i'll have a new car by January 20th or so...have it put together within a week..and prepped for track in February for a last event before i leave for Brazil for a month...
