this info would really help me right now

I cant remember. if your sitting in the car with the stereo and fan off and ignition off, and you turn the key to on or run or whatever, do you normally hear the fuel pump? I know what it sounds like I just cant remember if its loud enough to hear or not.

stock one you shouldn't hear much, upgraded ones are louder. it will just be a light high pitched buzz for the most part.

HiPSI, its me DRFT, heh. I think my fuel pump just went out. Can you still tell if it goes bad if it whines really quiet? cause my car hasnt't been running for a week and i yanked the fuel pump out and powered it up by a source. and when it is powered it whines really quietly. i doubt i can hear it if its in the car. so what do you think?

and twitchy sorry for hijacking your thread, but i thought it would relate to your thread.

easier way to hear the pump is to open the gas door and listen, the pump should be loud enough to be heard from there.

if you have the back seat down you can usually hear the hum of the fuel pump hen you turn the key, now if you have a walbro 255 you will definitely hear it

my Z32 TT pump makes a light buzzing noise that can be heard both inside and outside the car (put ur ear near the rear wheel wells), overall its not a big deal unless you have no stereo.

Yea, I don't know why people are always bitching about fuel pumps being loud. I have a Walbro 255lph in my Eclipse and it doesn't bother me one bit.

Right now I have my back seats out, when my car is running I hear a slight sound almost like air escaping. this is coming from somewhere around the fuel pump. I dont know if there is an aftermarket pump in there, is there any way to tell, or is this a normal thing. thanks.

well the new pump is ordered...i cant think of what else it couuld be

im having the mechanic check everything before he puts it in just to be safe...i cant imagine how it would break when it wasnt being used. I would hate to replace it if thats not what it is but im really really stumped.

i have my rear seats yanked out and when i'm sitting at idle with no music on i can hear my fuel pump, it sounds like a quiet electric motor...which is what it is.

my walbro 'Wherrrrrss' for about 2 seconds when the ignition is in the on position, then it stops - once its pressured up the gas lines

You can definitely hear it from the outside, not loud though

I will have to check after I put the seats back in. But I have never remembered hearing this sound before on any of my other 240's, I sounds like it is coming from under the fuel pump. is there anything else it could be or shouldn't I worry. also if it is a walbro fuel pump and I run the hacked MAF for my turbo set up will it get to much fuel. with the 370's
