First pic: Part no 32145 is what I need. That's a 96 240sx diagram.

Note the stem height where the bottom of the stick engages the tranny lever.

That top plate with the six bolts is what's screwing me. The 240 one is shorter, allowing the stem to engage the tranny. Part is only 40 bucks from Nissan.

I am pissed.

The tall truck shifter.

On the bright side, did disconnect door buzzer.

Had to help my boss get his BMW K1 in the house for scheduled maintenance. Nissan tailgates make good ramps. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> It got a little dented. Oh well.

Sorry the post is so long. Yes, I am planning on making the 240 shifter work.

Oops, forgot one pic, now it's there. &nbsp;Yeah, I was pretty #### cranky after the shit didn't work. &nbsp;Had to wait until today to check Nissan. &nbsp; The parts guy is getting pretty used to me coming in with weird questions. &nbsp; He used to look at me like I was a dumbass, but now he knows I just like to have more fun than others.

Smart guy! &nbsp;I just realized that after it got dark the other night. &nbsp; The only problem is I tried to cut out the buzzer earlier, and it's wedged behind a piece of metal. &nbsp;I couldn't figure a way to do it, so I'll just turn on the light manually. &nbsp; No biggee. &nbsp; Also, no worry of leaving the door slightly ajar and running the battery dead.

Yeah, I think my dome light is the original. I have lights all over the car that need to be replaced. Mainly in the trunk. Is there one under the hood? My old dakota had one there.
