me and a friend of mine decided to go on a little impromptu mountain drive yesterday in the mountains of NE Georgia. much to our delight there wasn't another car for miles and the roads were just wet enough to have lots of fun practicing our crappy poser drifting around multiple corners/switchbacks:p i wish it was a nicer day i would've gotten some better pics of my favorite stretches of road, but i'm sure i'll go up there again soon. anyhow, i took a couple of pics while up there, and i was pleased to finally see some snow as you can tell from the pics. anyone around atlanta or anywhere near northeast GA i would highly recommend coming along for a drive on these roads, we always have a blast! my face usually resembles this :D :D :D when we're there.

http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288249867

i drive the blue S13 with stock SE wheels on it and my friend drives the S13/Silvia converted 240. if anyone ever wants to go on a drive up there shoot me an email, i'm always up for a drive.

i've only had my car maybe just over 2 months, so i wouldn't be suprised if you haven't seen it.:D the grey one belongs to my friend marshall, that car is a beast and very well put together. just needs some real suspension:coolugh: (the thing is sky high in the front)

tehehe, yeah it's a bit gaudy but not too bad compared to a VIS frontend or some of the ebay knockoffs going right now:D
when he go that frontend there weren't many more silvia bumpers available like there are today, at least not as easily accessible (i think J-spec was one of the few sites he knew of back when he started the buildup so he didn't have a large set of options, and his stock silvia bumper was trash)

Just take a look where they are from and you'll understand why they like it. People from those areas simply don't know any better.

they being me and the guy with the veilside bumper, or they being S13driver?

if you meant me, i will assure you, i don't like a single product veilside makes other than maybe their turbo manifolds, but those are overpriced like a mofo. my car will remain mainly stock as far as appearance is concerned, other than some decent wheels and rubber and maybe cutting the front bumper to get more air through the intercooler/radiator area, possibly a front lip to fill out the gaping recess in the stock bumper. and of course, the stock wing has to go, non-winged coupes are >than winged coupes:D

i saw you drive by the mall last thursday. i was sitting outside at starbucks and i heard a nice high pitched blowoff...but i barely caught a glimpse of your car. a few of my friends and i live up in the flowery branch area. maybe we should get together and have a nice little 240 meet.

lol, that was probably me. i work at the mall unfortunately so most likely i was leaving work. i guess i can't complain too much, i make enough money to pay for my cars/bikes and still have some fun in the meantime:D

what does your car look like? the only 240's i've spotted around the mall are a grey hatchback with some konigs the other night, and a beat up green S14 with a bigass sticker down the side (i think it says Blur2ed or something to that nature, it's the same kid that kissed the wall at hyperfest in NC).

if you see me out and about stop and say hi (i promise i'm not one of the kids that hangs out at the waffle house)

I don't think he was talking down on Texas, but earlier in the thread, there was this dick that decided to make a generalization about people's choices in how they modify their cars in a manner that would lead one to think that he feels that all people in the south have bad taste when it comes to their cars.

I plan on doing a spring 240/SE-R mountain run/meet, starting in the very early morning here in Greenville, making a run through the mountains of SC,NC, to the dragon, running it, and the skyway, and then back through a different route, for a complete day, with planned stopping points, for meals and picture taking opportunities, maybe hit some waterfalls that are close to the roads. I dont want it to be huge, because it attracts idiots, but I want it to be big enough to have fun. I have some scouting and route planning to do once I get some new tires and the rear axg's so I can get my suspension on. Watch for it soon.

And to stay on topic, I want your blue coupe, thats exactly what I want to start looking for in a few months. Looks like you guys had some fun though.

paradox: actually marshall and i stop in at that waffle house from time to time to eat in the wee hours of the morning or late at night. marshall lives just up the street from there pretty much and i went to highschool at north gwinnett so i still have lots of friends in the suwanee area as well. oh what fun i've had with suwanee cops:p . and BTW, nothing wrong with a 4wd Toyota, my automotive roots stem back to mini trucking (slammed black 2wd 91 toyota with 17" enkei's and 4wd frontend on it, i was the shit back in high school:p lol)

steeles, yeah that was marshall's car sitting in the BPM booth. he actually has been working there about 1 day a week just because he likes the place and they like him so much. they did that clean ass install on his car, and he's added lots of new goodies to it lately. i agree, this year will be absolutely nuts with mountain runs and track days and even a drift event at RA in april:aw: i'll have trouble deciding between the car and the bike when it warms up though:doh:

97dubtruck: i work at the cingular wireless kiosk near the movie theatre. i'm the lazy yonger guy sitting on his ass typing on zilvia.net all day:eek: (there's only one other person that works here and he's old so it's not hard to pick me out).

thanks, i like it too. i just wish my wheels would show up so i can get some decent rubber on this car, but they won't make it to the warehouse until january 26th or so then get shipped to me, so none for me until february some time. i should've just gotten the FN01RC's i was originally planning on buying.

I have seen Marshall’s car in person when me and my brother got our cars dynoed @ Balanced Performance, it looks good in person. Don’t forget everyone has different taste other wise we all be driving the same car, someone was even driving a car that looked like a snow plow not to long ago. Plus, everyone doesn’t have the money or rich parents like you to change a body kit every month. By the way Marshall’s car put down 371hp to the wheels and 309ft torque unlike stock under the hood like someone.

Hopefully we Atlanta people need to get together and meet each other. Then hopefully we could organize something like a mountain run and have local meet.
