View Full Version : ODBII P0130: O2 Sensor but for "Closed Loop" fuel trim

I'm throwing a code for P0130 which is the O2 sensor code but also the code for "Closed Loop Control". Car is a 1996 KA-t with SAFC2 and z32 MAF.

The code sets almost immediately after it is cleared.

From what I understand the "Closed Loop Control" is what sets the fuel trim to the "economy"/predictable driving trim instead of the trim for erratic driving and waits until the car warms up before doing so.

My thermostat and O2 sensors are working properly however, my guess is that it seems that the warming to normal operating temperature process isn't occurring fast enough.

The freeze frame data for the code indicates:
Engine rpm: 0 rpm
Vehicle speed: 0 rpm
Calculated load: 0%
fuel sys1: OL, not ready CL
MAP: 30.xx inHg <----I guess this is Standard Atmospheric Pressure here

Doesn't this mean it trips when the car isn't even on?

Anybody else deal with this?

Figured this issue out, if you turn the car to "on" it reads the O2 sensor and throws the P0130 code. Weird. May be helpful to anybody else doing ODBII drive cycles.

Fixed by turning directly to "start/ignition".
