any more info to give us? are your plugs wet with fuel? maybe thats why it started up after 20mins, they dried up. if they have fuel on them, there could be something wrong with, injectors, o-rings, etc. might just be dumping fuel into the pistons.thats not good

once you pull out the injectors you'll see if the orings are damaged and all you might need are the orings,is there a certain number of plugs that have fuel on them, just one, all of them? if only one is like that, take out that injector for that section and see if the top o ring or the small bottom o-ring is damaged or even there. sometimes the small one gets eaten up by fuel/ or burnt up----or
the easier way is to remove the fuel rail with injectors still intact, leave all connections electrical connectors intact as well, switch on power to before engine start, and see if anything leaks out. nothing should come out as long as you DONT crank it, fuel ony comes out once you crank the engine.

Your fuel lines in the tank are on backwards, happens alot.

What kind of fuel pump? if its a performance model you may be out flowing the regulator and adding too much fuel causing the motor to flood. Solution is to buy a larger FPR.

Alright its worth a try, but if the lines are installed correctly and I swap the lines can I risk damaging anything?

no, wont do any harm.
