Yea 2k is a little high for missing things. It's also missing the harness for the coils. Zerolift has a complete swap for 2k with alot less miles. Just food for thought... Other than that GLWS!
+1 for S14 SR

Where do you live? Does it come with everything in the pic? Is anything else missing besides the engine harness,is that the matching ecu?
stickboie
12-08-2011, 07:01 PM
that is the matching ECU (?) only thing it does not come with is the harness. it comes with the complete AC, as well as the charge pipes for the intercooler.

Well i was turning it by hand. And if is suspos to be around 160 then doing a compression test with a wrench wasent to good of an idea. Looks like i just killed my sale. Well idk what im gonna do with this thing now. I have no use for it at all. Prolly gonna just sit on the side of the garage untill i scrap it. Anyone have any intrest in the tranny? Thanks for looking guys.

you could replace the starter and do the test again..
stickboie
12-15-2011, 06:58 AM
Thats prolly what im gonna try to do. I just dont feel like messing with it. I just want it outta my garage. I thought at that price i could do that. But not with a compression teat like that. Ive never did a compression test before. So maybe im just hooking up the started wrong?

replace the starter and get someone who know what they are doing to do the test. then sell it to me for a 1000 ship if it passes hehe:)

You should try to borrow a starter or do a leak down test you need a compressor and put it at top dead center plus leak down tool

Those compression numbers look good.
The engine speed during compression test DOES affect your numbers.
If you're turning the motor BY HAND those are great numbers.

I bought a motor when it as sitting or 5 months. Was compression at like 120 130 140....
Put a litte oil in each cylinder and popped it up to 155 and strait across... ran it for a few days did another ..was still 155 across.. cuz hot tests r different than cold tests..... plus hand crank testsdont work as we'll.....
But I'm bosting 25 pounds on my motor evry day daily driving and haven't had a problem
Drop a 1\2 of a cap of oil in a cylinder when u do a new test. Make sure u use a starter I'm sure the motor is still good...don't let these ppl rip u off and sel it for a g.....

Nope, just someone shopping for engines.
It's just common knowledge for those of us "in the know" that cranking speed affects compression.

That's because when it comes to buying swaps, everyone talks the talk but when it comes down to it only 1 out of every 1000 people who say they are interested actually have the money to buy it.
The importers usually sit on these engines for a few months so don't sweat it, you'll get a good offer sooner or later.
