A Build from where most cars aren't cool. 1JZ Cefiro.

Started off with cars about 3 years ago, I'm currently 19 from toronto ontario and here is my build.
Most cars up here don't do it right, so fellow friends and I try to hold it down our best.

Started out with this thing.

chassis was ready for death and I was bored of owning a car I didnt enjoy street driving. The racecar novelty wore off.

I had been on the prowl for a clean 180 or 240 chassis but wasn't very excited and was overall bored of these cars. Had a "next year" chat with a friend of mine and we came to the conclusion I should buy this Cefiro shell that had been sitting up for sale for a long long time. Ended up putting a deposit on the car 3 days later.

About a day after I trailered the car home a friend and I went halves on some shop space. Small but in budget and works.

Got a set of eurolines in 18x9/10 +30, was never satisfied with the sizing and were more of an impulse.

the initial plan was an easy as pie throw my racecar SR in and bam!
Then I realized how ass backwards it is to put a 4 cylinder 0 tq motor in a big sedan with a 6cyl engine bay. Rb's are cool and stuff but to have a 25 to my liking I would need another $1000+ for a forward facing manifold etc.
So I picked up a soarer 1jzgte R154 dealy.

You have a lot of talent in your build, and I envy the work you are putting in, but I still don't know why people import them to Canada. I simply Hate Cefiro's. They always reminded me of a silvia's fatter uglier sister. A lot of people from the US will love it simply for being JDM.

However

That being said, your car is going to be probably one of the coolest ones on this Continent, and if its clean, you will for sure get featured in magazines. My respect for this car and your build go far beyond anyone's expectations.

worked on front suspension stuff a tad, assembled and added antiseize,red locktite and grease where applicable. tein inners with spacers, spl outer's, RHD S13 steering rack,S14 5 lug, ARP studs and aftermarket TC rods.

Looks like a great build man. I'm beginning to see the gangster factor in the cefiro midsize body. Looks hot with those wheels.

I'm surprised you didn't keep going with the welder and make a 'nismo power brace' or some sort before you painted. Will you be making fender braces or anything extremely structural or just tubs and holes filled?

Also what welder are you using. Argon gas? It has to be inert gas lol I get flux core splatter everywhere. Need to step up my game instead of farm equipment welder lol.

Looks great. Great body work skills in here too being used nowhere on the body :P but somewhere more important.

I might get around to some bracing, the car isnt that serious the goal is just to have a very fun cool looking street car that im satisfied with haha. I use just a lincoln easy mig 140, its just a 120v welder with gas. Does ok work you just run into the risk of tripping the breaker at higher amperage.

I keep getting asked about this money thing. The car is being built from my racecar partout that I drained money into over a few years, and alot of the parts have been carried over, get your hustle on, keep your money strong :). At the end of the day there isnt all that much money into this car...

Routed vacuum lines for my Truboost, I know im going to get greedy sooner or later so might aswell run the plumbing for it with the motor out of the car.

Mounted the solenoid in a nifty spot, still have to get a 1/8th npt extention fitting that the clamp will go onto nicely.

The colour coat on the bay is all cured. Tomorrow morning should be the time to lay down some heavy shiny glossy lowrider clear. Then engine bay assembly or rear fender rolling with oliver!

Today was gonna be awesome!
It started out a fucking disaster.
Layed clear onto about 30% of the bay, there was a reaction and it wrinkled the paint.
I RAGED and went back to the dick-nose who set me up with the paint, let him know he's doing it wrong so he mixed me up some complimentary custom high quality cans. Should do the job and work with the clear. This setback is GAY.
Started by razor blading and sanding this goopy slu of chemicals off.

Got oliver goin at it with the heat gun and we pulled some fenders. VERY pleased with how they turned out. Just have to modify the rear bumper mounting place for more room and the back of the car will be set to sit down.

As for the fittings they are all aeroquip socketless stuff very easy to assemble, compression fittings and braided hose is overkill in 99% of plumbing, and looks too racey. LINK! (http://www.jegs.com/p/Aeroquip/Aeroquip-Socketless-Hose-AN-Fittings/749453/10002/-1)

Trnka came down for two days, we smashed alot of shit out. Not one issue while assembling stuff.

Masked off the wheel well area, brushed/rolled on some rubberized undercoating. Turned out awesome, really gave a good finish to the front end.

Ride height looks about right. Will be somewhere around there under real compression.

Ended up spending the rest of my time making nice brackets for the intercooler and intake, pictures when the paint drys on those!

Fit the front wheels, put a 3" crease in one of the fenders from the top of the roller, I RAGED pretty hard, ill probably get it repaired when I get the kit painted. Overall satisfied with how they fit.

I think the front ride height looks fine for the bumper clearance but I don't imagine you can drive without it rubbing, haha. Looks like you have to take the front up 6mm and the rear 12mm to drive around, that should give you enough aero clearance too, LOL.

I can't wait to see action shots of this thing though, it looks amazing!

also added a few degrees of camber to the front and lowered it about a half inch so its level, car is back on jackstands to finalize fitting aero and a bunch of stuff, should be back on the ground and take it for a spin if the salt clears up sooner than later.
