Yeh I just pulled out the back seat, back panels and spare tire and the ass end is bouncing around on hard turns. I'm planning to get a KAAZ 2-way soon and I'm wondering if that will fix this problem or if what it needs is some harder shocks since I still have the stock suspention.

Your post makes no sense to me. Are you trying to say that because you removed a few things from the rear of your car you are encountering more wheel hop? I HIGHLY doubt you will get more wheel hop because removing a few pieces of the interior. Also the Kaaz will help you fimd more grip if thats what you are talking about/looking for. Try being more clear in your questions.

Your struts are bad, 25lb if that out of the back wont do much, also you dident Gutt the inteior, you removed some stuff, did u take off the sound det. stuff.. yea

I gutted my interior (and yes according to Zemus definition of gutted) and it doesnt hop around at all...I'd try replacing the struts before the differential, well actually I'd do both, but ust because I want vlsd anyway
I second or third the REPLACE YOUR SHOCKS!
Shocks in back and struts in front...
I Tore Everything out of the back of my car... To the metal... And then some... No hop for me.
EDIT:
Back seat... Bottem part. 7 lb 4 oz
Back seat... Back part... 12 lb 12 oz
Passanger seat........... 33 lb 4 oz
Trunk guts............... 8 lb 12 oz without the right side peace.
Spair tire............... 32 lb 4 oz
= 94 lbs all but the front seat is staying out.. so 61 lbs gone!
I have however taken out more then this now... I'll weigh it later and post...

My 240 weighs 2440lbs with a full tank of gas. But thats after weeks of weight reduction. I dont think your 30-50lbs of weight removal would effect it that much. Check out your shocks man.
thx247

How much lightening did you have to add luke? 2440 w/full tank is amazingly light. Thats almost 400 pounds lighter than a stock SE hatch. Approaching miata territory almost

stock is 2689 for stock 1990 Base
With the right stuff, you can get 2400lb, thats my goal, taking out emisions and heat and shit you dont need saves you ALOT.
getting lighter would req. alot of shit.
LEXAN windows maybe loss of 100lb if your VERY lucky. Depending on the lightness, also if you have LEXAN I would never drive it on the road. Also you could cut out your spare tire area and cover with lighter metal. Ive heard of some ppl running a bit lower than 2300lb but thats like ballz to the walls, I mean im sure you can get it lower, but driving it on the street would be just a pain. LEXAN windows turn yellow if they sit in the sun to long, also fog, SUPER easy.

if you go no heat and a/c you ahvea about a combined 80 -90 lbs for the two, i have all my engine bay a/c stuff out, next i gotta take my dash out agains and get rid of all the boxes, cores, and the big fan...., egr maybe 5 lbs if you geta ll the cast iron parts out, my heating system is out next, i might get a after market one that is like half the weight so i can defrost my front window still........ther eis alot of this black rubber on your insdie firewall with insulation, i got all that out and some floor stuff and i had 3 walmart bags weighing about 35 lbs together, no back seat, no spare, chipped alot of sound deading out, i think i may have lost close to 200 lbs. and i still got the under dash to go... i also got a sparco fiber glasss seat, i just gotta get one more, i wont have a weight on my car until spring though, after i take the dash out, the old girl is hideing from the salt
thinkin about lexan or plexi rear window and rear quarter windows, but the like 800$ to get the here is holdin me back
thx247

Not even close. I pulled out the heater core, a/c system, and the fan and had about 45-50 lbs worth of shit. That is with everything under the dash gone.
The automatic seat belt system and wiper system both are easy ways to save some weight.
black rubber on your inside firewall with insulation...about 35 lbs together.
That is closer, I would say 25 lbs worth of shit.
I need to get a scale, but I think ALL the tar on the floor (trunk included, and the shit on the wheel arches) came out to somewhere around 40lbs.

Not trying to be a dick, but I hear people saying that they gutted their car and lost 200lbs sometimes...when it's more like 50.

I haven't worked with LEXAN Zemus, but from what I understand, by replacing the rear window and quarter glass, it wouldn't bear nearly that much... maybe a 40lb savings, if that?
BTW Zemus, whats up... You know who this is.. haha. Think Gutted.
Shocks in back and struts in front...
Aren't they struts all around? The rears have the springs mounted to the shocks too... making them struts, right?

yeh my shocks are probably bad. My car's got 135,000 miles on it and the steering wheel vibrates at highway speed. I'm pretty sure it's not the wheel bearing or alignment. I still want to get that LSD cause it's open diff now. Later maybe get coilovers since I'm going to the track.

To get my car down to 2440 with a full tank heres what i did. Im sure i will forget to include somethings.
1. Gutt interior (everything except front seats, and dash)
2. Remove extra metal with a die grinder. (area below side windows)
3.Remove all sound deadening even under the dash (took almost two weeks)
4. Removed front and rear bumper supports.
5. Removed ac from sr20 motor, condensor, etc.
6. Removed extra wiring.
7. extended the rear wiring harness and ran wires so they are not visible.
8. Removed pwer seat belt crap.
9. removed stock wing.
10. removed rear window wiper and motor and wiring.
11. removed radio, speakers, wiring.
Im sure im forgetting some things.
For the next stage of weight reduction. I allready have, but havent installed.
I have a 15 gallon aluminum fuel cell
Aeromotive 500lb hr Fuel pump
Aeromotive Cleanable fuel filter
10an stainless lines
Sparco Corsa seats
G-FORCE 3" cam lock harnesses
Auto power 6 point cage (adds weight)
VERTEX aluminum battery box
Greddy vspl intercooler
momo steering wheel with quick release hub.
And heres what I will do after all that.
Plexi rear, and rear side windows (lexan turns yellow)
Cut more metal out of inner body
S15 front end with carbon hood ( should save weight)
Hope this gives ya an idea.
Luke
and i do drive it on the street almost every day

It seems everyone is crazy about lightening the hell out of their car, so if you guys run out of stuff to take off do you go run at the gym and cut your hair to try and drop weight too?:p

Heres what my hatch area looks like and I don't have any wheel hop problems, but I have a thicker rear sway bar, VLSD and sportlines too, so YMMV.

if you are getting really bad wheel hop you have bad struts. other things just cause small wheel hope. drastic hope like your entire cars i going to explode is crappy struts.

yah i weighed the stuff in the bags, it came to like 34.8 total so i guess its not 35, but that was fire wall stuff and most of what i scraped form teh floor, the a/c that i took out was the large pump, and the cast iron bracket that was held to it, and the ac core in the car, the plastic fan, and other little brackets under the hood, the core in front weighed next to nothing, same with the aluminum lines in the car. i ll admit i didnt weight that stuff but it was a big pile of shit in the drive way. seeemd heavey when i dumped most of it the min havey yhtings are teh ac box under the dash, the pump, and the idleer and pump bracket, so if it all only weighed 40 lbs i bet your right................i didnt weigh that stuffbut the heater box and every thing is pretty havey too
