yes yes, all the street racing tonight was awesome to say the least. and i thought nothing could take the huge grin 130mph gives you off my face. but then john law had to come in and ruin the night. First, this prick at UDF gives me shit for squealing my tires when going into a parking space. it was no big deal and he started yelling at me, and he got my license number and apparently is going to make a police report. so i just left, after i let him know how i felt with some choice words. and as if that didnt piss me off enough. later on me and thorpedo are in my car and we meet up with these two ladies in the parking lot of this park. so we're just sitting there talking, trying to figure out something to do (this town is hella boring) when 2 cops roll up. i figure its no big deal and he's gonna tell us to move along. but no. instead he starts being the biggest jerk ever and says some bullshit about the park closing at dark. WE WERE JUST SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT FOR 2 MINUTES. it was no big deal. so he calls everyones parents and proceeds to be a huge dick and disrespect me at every opportunity. he said we had to go home and we would be arrested if he caught us out again. so now the rest of my night is ruined. god i hate cops with there power trip elitist son of bitch attitudes. and the worst thing is theres nothing i can do about this fucking cop and his complete disregard for my rights. i am soo pissed. sorry about this post, i just needed to vent.

Ugh, I can't say I agree with you. 130mph on the street and you're pissed because a cop ruined your night? ####, he may have saved your life. I don't want this to turn into a maturity or age debate, but with your attitude, you should fully expect to run into trouble with the police. I don't mean any offense, you're prolly just pissed, but lighten up. It's not like you weren't breaking the law or anything. . .

Yea... I bow down to cops. They leave you alone faster. Being a smartass or a dick to a cop is bad idea. Being a smartass cost my friend over a grand.

How? Well if you care this kinda a funny story. He was driving one of my friends little Accord cars with a loudass exhuast... at the time I think it had Clear tails. He got pulled over for it. He was a total dick to the cop and the cop asked him for his liscense. Well that was in his own car (not the one he was driving) so in Oregon if you're caught without a liscense you get a $5000 ticket.

The cop wrote him the $5000 ticket, all he needed to do to lift the ticket is go to court and show his liscense. This is where it gets funny. (Kinda)

The same morning he had his court date we had a Calculus test at school. So not thinking about the law and concentrating on math he totally forgot his court date. You know what happens then? For failure to appear you get arrested. So he went to jail (for 5 minutes) and his dad bailed him out for $1250. Ouch!!

Lesson to be learned!! Actually two! Don't smart off to cops, and dont miss your court date after you smart off to the cops!!

Streetracing is so fucking stupid. Leave it to Vin Diesel and Paul Walker you dork.

I was with my freind last weekend in his 93 Integra and we were racing this Cavalier. We get up to about 105 and his car starts to drift (he just got some 97 GSR wheels w/new tires and didnt have them alligned or balanced). Next thing I know we are sliding across the road at 90 mph for about 300 yards and then the car slides up onto a curb and we continued to slide and then we hit a light pole. We must have been doing 30 or 40 (not any faster or we would have been dead) when we hit the pole because his car is totally wrecked.

My knee flew completely through his glove compartment. And the seatbelt denied me bigstyle. What makes it even better is we were coming back from Burger King heading back to his house and I was holding the drinks and when we collided with the pole I squeezed the drinks and they went ALL OVER the car and us.

It's been a week and I am still sore. It hurts when I breathe deep and when I sneeze my tail bone tenses up. I havent gotten a good night sleep sense then because my neck/back is so fucked. My right leg (that hit the dash/glovecompartment) is a bruise from the knee to the ancle and I cant feel it.

So that is pretty much it for me and street racing. Slow and steady wins the race

I overhead a cop saying "Another rice rocket bites the dust." Kinda made me angry that a cop (for one) would say that infront of two people who were just in a accident.

Btw, Fast and the Furious blows and if you buy it you should be hit in the mouth with a tire iron.

I tend to agree with Street racing, if your not prepared, but if you are make sure, some of your buddies are OUT SCOPING THE STREETS AHEAD, nothing like having to dodge a truck at 100mph, on a two lane road.

Keep it for the Dragstrip or Track, remember speed doesn't kill, it's the stopping factor the kills.

greatest piece of info i ever got from my cousin was "dont be a smart ass to a cop after he pulls you over" and hes right. i get pulled over alot but mostly because i look young. sometimes if your honnest with them youll get a fine but most of the time much less (at least here in montreal) as for street racing. #### yeah its dangerous. but im alright with it just as long as its not some moron at a red light downtown or something like that. always go out to deserted places that are 15 minutes away from town and race there. if u kill yourself u only kill YOURSELF no one else.

I got pulled over twice in Montreal: once for burnin' through 2 stop signs and rolling at 80km/h in a 40 km/h zone and another time for a loud exhaust.

I was honest with the cop, and both times, he let me go. Never had a fine or a ticket, got lucky twice I should say.

It's important to point out that stuff to the effect of, "You're an ####### and hate me for no good reason, #### coppa!" while an example of honesty, is still a bad idea. I don't think honesty should be stressed here as much as "ass kissing". The latter is far more important. For as many times I have gotten f'd by the police, there exist at least as many times when I havn't.

Oh, and slowing down. Yeah, I hear that also helps. Ehh.

in case you guys didnt notice, this topic has nothing to do with street racing. the 2 events were completely unrelated. this was way after the carclub meeting with all the street racing. and i was not at all rude to the cop, in fact i couldn't have been more pleasant. thats why it was bullshit that he was an ass to me. it seems like the whole goddamn world is against me this weekend

hey. SRskilla, I understand you dog. U know whats funny, my friend posted somethign similar to what u posted in the forum that he goes to (probetalk.com) and told the people there how he hates the cops and that they always are starting trouble cause most of us are young driving a sporty looking car and the people in his forum acted just the same way.
The fucking funny shit is, I told my friend that the people in my forum would never do that, that the people in my forum are more caring and that we dont really fight and start trouble, I guess I was wrong.
SRkilla, I KNOW HOW COPS ARE, it doesnt matter what you say, they always have a smart ass comment to say, and always wanna write up a stupid ass ticket for the fun of it and probably for their quota.

whacked-its unfortunate but I think ur friend is the dick.
how in the #### is he gonna be so cheap as to not even balance and align the #### tires. In strauss its like 7 bucks a tire for each tire to balance and like 55 to align.
thats not a bad price to pay for safety and better handling.

One more thing I wanna say, who wants to go to a race track? You have to pay for it, you waste brakes and shit. Its much easier to go to the street and race right there for free. BYW-do u think that street racers are fucking stupid? We have people making sure that the croos streets up ahead are clear so that no cars would get in the way. Street racing is cool in a semi controlled environment, such as in an industrial area, and with people making sure the path is clear.
I'm not looking for an argument but I'll probably get one anyway.

I will continue to go as fast as possible on surface streets, but I do pay attention. Being nice to the cops is the only way out. Always know what you were doing, but don't ever volunteer information. I just got out of a mess that I wouldn't have had to deal with had I not volunteered, "Yeah, I was going around 70." Thought the cop had radared me. Guess not. Oh well.

in montreal its about 10$ a run..... down 1/4 mile. i would rather do that and have real times then go on the street and have all the trouble.

01-21-2002, 01:49 PM
I think those of you who are hating, being "anti-cop" are just assholes with a bigass chip on your shoulder. How are you gonna generalize so easily and hate ALL cops when each cop is an individual and a human being?

Sure, I've had my share of rude cops but I've also had my share of really cool cops. I got pulled over and cited for doing 55 in a 35 several months ago, but the offer was real cool. I asked him if he was sure he laser'ed me correctly and didnt accidentally laser another car. He let me come out of the car and for like 10-15 minutes I was lasering other cars having fun, shooting the shit.

Anyway, stop acting so #### childish thinking the world is against YOU, when you are the ####### speeding on the freeway fucking around at night when you probably should be at home with mom and pops sleeping.

hehe I like being a smartass now that I am old. =) bottom line is, when I speed atleast I acknowledge that I am speeding. Just take responsibility for your actions foo.. hehe

here is what i do. (which probably wouldn't help for this case) if you get pulled over, turn off the car, set the keys on the dash, look the cop in the eyes, and answer with yes sir no sir (or maam), answer promplty. every cop is going to be an ass as a defense, and also because 9/10 times if he pulls over a kid, the kid is going to be a prick so he's going to show you who's boss. so surprise him, make him understand you're not trying to get out of it. doesn't work for every cop, i imagine, but so far it worked for every cop for me since i changed my attitude toward cops.

01-21-2002, 03:50 PM
well said! i am only 24 and the shit works just about EVERY time for me! bow down, take responsibility, and just be as polite as possible.

Ok I'll start off by saying that I have quite a few cop friends, I was actually lent a car by a cop in order for me to get my license when I was 16. Now for the honest truth most cops are underpaid undereducated and underappreciated assholes. By the time a cop harasses you late at night in a park for talking to girls(yes it happened to me also) he is most likely at the end of his long boring shift and pissed off that he has to go home to an empty house or his family which in many cases is worse than an empty house. So be polite be humble and get the #### out of dodge at your first opportunity, if he tickets you get a lawyer and let him argue with the law cuz unless you're a lawyer you wont win. By the way I was in my 84 vette and the dickhead cop had the balls to escort me all the way back to my house, where my mom thankfully got my back and told him he should go stop crime and let her worry about where her son is late at night haha.

im not a big fan of the police, and sometimes even being polite doesn't help. sometimes, when that quota is in their mind, it doesnt matter what you say. that being said, swallow your pride for 5 minutes, kiss the cops ass, and youll move on just fine. the only ticket i ever got from a cop was when i was 17. that should tell you something. I've been pulled over at least 10 times in the past 6 years with no tickets....

Well every time i've been pulled over for a legitimate reason I've gotten a ticket. I'm alway very respectful and polite but I live in a small town and they are all jerks. This is what has led me to my new way of dealing with cops. RUN! Hey if they have the balls to chase me then so be it. But I'll tell you this much I've gotten out of so many tickets it's pathetic. Although I finally got caught doing something recently which was pretty crappy situation. I was out 4 wheeling in my truck. We had a bonfire out there and a cooler with beer. This was about a 4 mile drive from the road down trails that a car can't drive down. I was heading up to the road to meet someone to follow me back and there was a cop sitting at the end of the trail. Apparently someone had called to report seeing a group of people driving back into the woods. So anyway, I had 3 cans of beer and when I saw him I turned around and took off back into the woods. By the time I came out from another trail which is about 6 miles down the road from the original cop and was met by another cop. 30 seconds later about 12 more cop cars appeared. They set up road blocks all the way up the road waiting for me. Needless to say since i'm only 19 I got a DUI and have no license for another 8 months. I know it's thier job and technically I was breaking the law but still. I wasn't even on a road or anything. I was later told by my attorney that if I had 1 gulp of beer and was sitting behind the wheel in my driveway, I'd lose my license for DUI under 21. Well anyway after spending thousands of dollars I still have no license and probation and my insurance is outrageous for the next 3 years. Since I financed my truck I have to keep insurance on it. So I'm paying $500 a year for my truck to sit in the yard with no tag. Pretty shitty if you ask me. Anyway, enough rambling. I have lots of stories about running from the law.

Yeah, I agree with idunit, small town Cop's Suck, but I got pulled over 7 times in one day, I would of let it go, but getting pulled over 4 out the seven times, by the same cop's, kinda gets ya going, hey I got no tickets I was doing nothing wrong, just driving the 280zx, and listening to soundz, then fuckers, pull me over, I thought all was cool, my car complied with the New Zealand laws(WOF & REGO, plus Certification for any mod's), they first said my car was too low, but they couldn't prove that against the cert, but when they pulled me over the other times, pointing out things that was Illegal, then taking back there word when I pull out the Cert, They even told me it was Illegal to ride on the 18 I had, and thats when they wrote out a ticket, the day after, and the court battle that ensued was awesome, not only did I get let off they had to apologise to me infront of all the racers, on the beach front. that was cool, but the cop's don't like me very much, and I don't like them.

On another note One of the Cop's inquestion lost his job for hitting a chick on New Year 2001, hee hee.

Just want to point out that police ticket quotas are illegal in most states. . . I haven't had much trouble with police, been pulled over three times, ticketted all times, but the cops were nice enough not to put it on my record :-) All but one cop I've dealt with have been pretty cool, and that one who was a bit of a jerk was the only one I didn't need to pay any money for my ticket (was also when I was worst speeding).

I suppose this is another of those issues that we will always be debating, just like the KA vs the SR

Bottom line is they are doing their job. If you are breaking the law it's their job to pull you over and give you a ticket.Just because some are cool and let you off doesn't mean the next one will. If you think about it they aren't supposed to let you off at all so be thankful when they are extra cool. I speed constantly and everytime I get pulled over, I deserve it. It comes with the territory I guess.

I get stopped all the time, get my car searched every couple of months, get stopped by cops when I'm walking on the street, all kinds of crap all in the last 6 monthes... have I lost my cool? almost, I wished i coulda shot those #### cops, but I didnt, kept my cool, and I'm still here today with no tickets no record no nothing, I guarantee if I did give them attitude, I'd atleast had been hauled down to the police station and hassled all night...
