im currently building my KA looking to purchase some pistons real soon. i was looking at some cp pistons 9:1 wit a 91mm bore size. is that a good bore size? want to make high hp. looking to use as a weekend/show car. so wouldnt be driven so often. what you guys think? are cp any good? i was looking at some je pistons as well. wit the same compression and a 89.5 bore

Bore over as little as possible, leaves room to bore over in the future. Check out Supertech pistons.
I've been running them in my KA-T, 89.5 or .02 over, 8.6:1 compression
Also the pistons you choose unless you are going high compression will not make you much power and even then its a long road to make decent power NA
Boost or bust :D

I have some CP and they do fine, supertech are a valid choice as well. I would take JE any day of the week but they do cost more. Unless you're pushing that engine hard on a regular basis, they wont outweigh the cost. JE do have some nice coating options if you buy them custom from JE though :yum:
Maxing out NA power I would go 10:1 pistons but get a good ems and tune. boring, you'll get more power out of a built head and PP. If you want to bore it I vote sleve it.

No need to sleeve the ka's iron block unless you're doing some drastic boring. Shit they make pistons that are .06 over I believe and at that bore I'd be worrying about temps

I've yet to see a well built .6 over pushing the limits, Would be a great project. Sleeving will just make a rebuild easier if your bore is to worn. Just change sleves.
Waxball is right though, boost or bust. =D

yea well the reason i asked cuz some guy on here is selling cp pistons 9:1 91mm bore for 550bnib. and some je 9:1 89.5mm bore for 650.
9:1 compression isnt too bad for boost right? im planning to make 500+ weekend car.

You can boost any compression just the margin for error is smaller. If you have the correct fuel and a good tuner, you should be fine.
Supertechs run around 400 shipped for pistons and they offer all bores and CR's
