i think this is for both KA and SR trannys...but I am about to change my tranny fluid and i see two things which could possibly be the drain and fill plugs. they are big square things, one is "male (a square poking out)" and the other is "female (going in)". what tool do you use? i dont want to strip anything and they do not look like any ordinary things. any ideas? also, when filling through the shifter, how do you remove the shifter? i look and see a tie wrap and after that there is a ring with two little holes in it. how do i take it out, and once i take it out what else do i have to do? thanks guys,

1/2" drive for the female plug, big crescent wrench for the male plug.
For filling thru shifter (which is pointless is you've already got the fill plug removed), remove the six bolts holding the shifter plate to the trans. It's SO much more easy to fill thru filler hole (assuming car is level on jackstands) with a hand pump than it is to remove the shifter assy and do the same.

you dont need to remove the 6 bolts. just use snap ring pliers to take the clip out, the one with the 2 little holes, and pull straight up, the whole shifter will come out, and pour it in till it runs out the side hole.
