i have a set of new oem 86mm pistons rings
was wondering if they will work on 86mm cp pistons?
Has anyone done this before?

Doubt it. On a KA, stock rings (#2 compression ring is too thick, I think #1 is too) won't fit on a Wiseco ring.
Even if they "fit", I wouldn't run them. Piston-ring clearance is important and you could throw that off by not using the right rings for a particular piston.

To get the best answer, I could contact CP directly. Chances are though, they will tell you to buy some CP rings. Your better off selling your 86mm OEM rings and buying CP ones for 100. That should offset the cast a nice amount provided you find a buyer which shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Yea i thought that would be a problem
Trying to sell my oem rings
I guess ill just buy cp rings and try to sell the oem rings

Also based on the numerous threads where people blow up engine, the ringlands/rings tend to break. If you're running a forged piston, then regular rings, seems like a waste at least in my opinion
