Video/computer Experts Help Please!!!

I have a friend who sent me a file i wanna put on my website, it is a video file and it is in .asf form, how can i convert an .asf file to a .mpeg file or any file to file conversion i have always wondered this? Please help Thank you

I use TMPGEnc to convert to MPEG format and VirtualDub to convert to AVI
