so i have some coils that where the lower peerch if u will meets the spindle it is too narrow for the spindle part to fit it
ive already tried bashing it with two vice grips on either side and hammers but it doesnt seem to be working
and some dumbass who i got them off of decided to weld a bit of it so only one side isnt height adjustable b/c then id just buy a new lower perch
any idea's

It doesn't fit because it is bent.

Have a C-clamp? is so lock it in place and take an adjustable wrench and bend it back as much as you can..pain in the ass but should work.

ive been banging on it like all day wiht vice grips and heavy hammers...im thinking maybe if i a full tap bolt and nut and put them on the inside and unscrew it it should push it out
i think its mils steel and not aluminum like others so thats prob why its so hard?

What about taking the more narrow end put it on at a angle take a block wood and hitting hammer on and see if you bend out the parts that already at an angle...does this make sense lol, I can see it in my head lol

Any luck with getting the widened out?
well hers what i did
http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/yy98/ClowesClause/Project%20silvia/DSC03694.jpg
i made a kind of seperator if u will from a carage bolt 2 nuts and 2 washers all 3/8 size, stuck them inside and widen
http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/yy98/ClowesClause/Project%20silvia/DSC03695.jpg
http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/yy98/ClowesClause/Project%20silvia/DSC03696.jpg
only problem is that i had to put it on the car with the bolt in there cuz it sucks back to being too narrow if u take it out....and after a LOT of hammering to get it on the spindle...its on
and here's how the car sits now (no engine), rears are max out fronts are what ever the height of the dumbass welded one 195/60r15 snowys

If your coilovers are like mine, the most they will drop on top of that is an inch or so with the motor in.

Might I ask why you insist on using those shitty coils?

I would still soak or dump them in PB blaster and just clean them up because your next problem is going to be 0 adjustability if it isn't already.

hopefully they were like 50.00
glad to see you got them on, but if you had to force/bend/hammer them on, its gonna be a pain hammering them off later.

It's too bad this is on a shock, otherwise you could have heated them up to re-bend them.
Problem is that's thick and tough metal, it's meant to hold up the car afterall...
keep doing what you're doing with the carriage bolts and torque it out far enough that it doesn't spring back enough to have to wrestle it on, and you should be ok
Make sure you check them for cracks and have them professionally tigged if any appear due to the process of spreading the mounts.
I agree with the others though, if you didn't get a hell of a deal, that's just not worth the effort man, especially with good deals like the megan group buy, or used QUALITY coilovers kicking around on the forums....
Good luck
