Clutch Pedal Problem?

So earlier I drove my car to my dad's house to print out my resume. Got back outside and my car wouldn't turn on. It happened before, but my car was able to start again after little attempts.

This time my car wouldn't turn on after many attempts. My lights and stereo were working so I don't think the battery is the problem, but we still tried to jump it anyways. When I turn my key, I don't hear anything. My dad suggested that he push my car with his truck down the street until it rolls fast enough, and then try to turn on the car. Turns out it worked and I was able to make it to my interview on time. After the interview, I was able to drive it home without any problem starting the car. I even went to get gas and no problem either.

However I always fear that my car won't start after I park it. I don't know where to look. I heard my dad said something about fuse amps, though he was probably trying to pinpoint the cause and just guessing. Maybe it's my clutch pedal or a bad battery?

Anyone out there who might know what the problem is? My car is a 1990 240sx fastback 5speed.

The clutch pedal has a start interlock switch that over the years gets beat up. Its a simple connection, you have to have the clutch pedal pushed in to start the car. Go in there, remove the switch, and short out the two wires (connect them together) so the electrical system is always ready to start.

Had the same problem. But had to buy the clutch grommet at the dealer 3 bucks. Rather not cut any wires

This has actually happened to me twice since I have had my car. After about a minute of trying to start it though, the starter finally starting spinning and it worked. I know in my case its not the clutch sensor because I dont have to push the clutch in my car to start it in the first place (already bypassed). Its always puzzled me.

Edit:
So I just went out and took a look. Turns out I am missing the grommet. Now that I know it's just there to push the switch, I won't have to worry about it any time soon and just use my finger. I'll be picking up one really soon.
