I have an S14 sr20 and i just purchased some parts to get my head fully built.....Someone was telling me that i should get rocker arm stoppers but i only see these made for s13 sr's. What is the benefit of these and where can i find them for an s14?

They are there to prevent the rocker arm from coming off at a higher RPM. I have a s14sr and i bought some greddy RAS for a s13sr and they work just fine>

They will fit. I had to make minor modifications to mine to get them to fit but they are worth it if you are staying with hydraulic lifters.

worth the small investment, I have seen a head with a lifter that jumped and caused havoc on a head because he got no RAS. worth about 500 in the machine shop plus parts! in exchange for about 75.00 worth of RAS insurance.
They all fit S13 and S14 Head, just need a little trimming on the covers. All of them fuction the same way, just depend if you need the extra bling of a name brand.

But contrary to popular belief...RAS is not a full proof insurance. Only way to make a damn SR head worry free is solid lifters...

Rocker arm stoppers, only stop the rocker arm from coming off the lifter, the weakest point is still going to be the rocker arm, solid or hydraulic setups. The arms tend to break like turkey or chicken wish bones. Meaning the larger piece stays connected to the lifter via the stopper. They do however help prevent the rocker arm from just magically flying off. I believe it is very minor insurance, since shims, guides and the small section of arm can cause serious damage. Depending on where they land, in the head. (under another rocker for instance). Having better springs and shimmed head to accompany the stoppers is a better approach for the hydraulic setup.
